Re: CH. 11: Dark Side of the Mond
Is it possible for Ouragna to pull Jocelyn close to her so that she's protected by the shield, too? If that is the case, she will do it and drag her with herslef, with their backs to the building.
There's more to me than meets the eye...

Re: CH. 11: Dark Side of the Mond
Jocelyn covers her ears in reaction to the croak, but there isn't much else that she can do.
OOC: I'm assume she is stunned for a round, which means that she can't do anything.

Re: CH. 11: Dark Side of the Mond
(OOC: Before I post Baeros actions, I wanted to understand something. Can Baeros notice that his fellows are stunned and the first creature is still standing or is he with his back to them too focued with the third creature?
BTW I thought the critiacl hit would be (1d12+1)*2 and not 2d12+2 I also thought the frogs are human sized... I guess too much assumptions would get you killed (or stunned and digested, still alive, by frogs in our case

Re: CH. 11: Dark Side of the Mond
While Brock picks up his fallen weapon and Ouragana grabs Jocelyn and drags her to the wall, Andar swings his cutlass at the original monster. Having very little combat experience, however, hinders the mariner and he isn't able to penetrate the creature's thick hide. The monster retaliates, striking at him with both claws. Luckily, Andar is able to avoid the creature's teeth.
Baeros, meanwhile, goes after the third monster, which has stopped to wait for him. He swings his long sword, missing, but manages to stab the creature with his short sword. The creature roars in pain and counterattacks. However, it trips and stumbles during the attack, falling on its face before the ranger.

Re: CH. 11: Dark Side of the Mond
Taking a deep breath, Ouragana casts an Irritation spell on creature F1, aiming for its back between the spikes.
There's more to me than meets the eye...
Re: CH. 11: Dark Side of the Mond
Ouragana tries throwing a spell of irritation at the extraplanar monster, but alas, the creature shrugs it off like rain water on a duck's back. Instead, it continues its assault on the rookie, Andar, slashing at him with its elongated claws and sinking its razor sharp teeth into him. His leather armor offers little protection and he goes down, screaming in horrible pain.
It's Brock who comes to the rescue. Perhaps to make up for his dropping his weapon earlier, he gives a loud battle cry and swings the weapon with all of his and Octhanus' might, nearly severing the monster in two. There's a sudden flash of light as the creature vanishes from this world, forced back to its own home plane in exile.
Meanwhile, Baeros attacks the fallen monster remaining. His long sword fails to cut through the creature's thick, rubbery hide. But his short sword finds purchase, doing considerable damage before the monster can get back up on its feet.
At around this point, Jocelyn's and Val's heads stop spinning and their ears cease ringing. They, along with Takit, can once again act and move.

"Everyone, help Baeros!" Jocelyn calls out as she rushes to Andar's aid. She quickly drops a cure light wounds prayer upon him.

Val shakes her head hoping to stop the terrible ringing in her ears. She looks around for a frog before spotting one and charging to attack with her trident.

Re: CH. 11: Dark Side of the Mond
Ouragana follows Jocelyn towards the group, and stands with her back to them, in case the last monster should decide to attack them instead of Bearos. "Jocelyn, we must retreat now. I am out of spells, and you know I can't fight. Everybody else is injured."
There's more to me than meets the eye...
Re: CH. 11: Dark Side of the Mond
Jocelyn hurries to Andar and kneels down, placing hands upon him and calling to Octhanus to save the mariner's life. Blue energy engulfs her, spreads down her arms and into her hands, then seeps into Andar's broken body. The bite wound on his neck heals a bit, and he suddenly wakes up, coughing up a bit of blood. He looks up at Jocelyn in confusion, his head still spinning from his near death experience.
Takit, Brock and Val all move south to aid Baeros. The dwarf, due to his bad limp, takes much longer than the others. Val and Takit show up right away and attack, but the monster is able to shrug off their attacks with ease. Roaring, it slashes at Baeros, cutting him across his chest lightly. It's a shallow cut, but it strangely hurts more than the ranger would have expected.
In retaliation, Baeros strikes with both of his blades. Once again, his long sword is battered aside, but his short sword manages to stab the creature, wounding it further.

Re: CH. 11: Dark Side of the Mond
Jocelyn smiles down to Andar. "Stay here," she says softly to the man as she stands up. "Ouragana, we aren't retreating," she says firmly. These toad things were a menace on this city at this point, and it was high time someone took care of them! "Watch over these two," she says to the mage as she makes her way towards the last toad the rest of them are fighting. Once in position (hopefully behind him), she prays to Octhanus calling upon her aid to produce a blade of flame.
Re: CH. 11: Dark Side of the Mond
Frustrated by the cut Baeros adjusts his grip on his long sword hoping to finish the creature off as soon as possible and he attacks again.
