Laurana blushes at the compliment. "It was lucky, it was easy to hit." She says discounting it with a wave of her hand.

Seeing Goldmoon attempt to cross the bridge she turns, reaching out her hand. "Take my hand." She gasps as the woman falls in the river, reacting quickly, trying not to think of the water she jumps in, doggy paddling to the fallen woman. "I have you!"

Goldmoon manages to keep hold of her staff, although gets quite soggy and dirty in the muck. Laurana helps to fish her out before the attention of any more poisonous animals is caught.

(Ooc: she has the best dex, thus best reactions, bar Tas)

"Ewwwww that was horrible!." The princess cries, vainly brushing debris off her cloak.

"Yes, it was." Goldmoon agrees. "Thank you for helping me, Laurana. None of the men were as quick." She smiles at the young elf.

"That it was, Tas." Sturm smiles as the girl dives in the water, so she was either brave or foolhardy. Either way he couldn't argue she was useful just then.

"Let us move on, I suggest we send the agile people over with a rope, to aid those less so." He turns to Tanis. "We were lucky that time."

"Give me just a minute to empty my boots"....Caramon dumps out any excess water.... "The last time I was in water like that, I was picking leeches off for hours... The ones that I could see anyway"... He quickly falls back in with the party.

"I did what anyone else would do, thats all." Laurana blushes again. "But I like Sturms idea, might help."

They press on, Riverwind in the lead. He leads them west a bit, then turns southwest, avoiding the wetter ground when possible. After a couple of minutes, they come across a huge ironclaw tree covered in moss that lay across the water, its thick trunk making a bridge wide enough for two people to walk across side-by-side.

"Now this is a bridge!" Flint says. "No more spider crawling on stupid green webs. Let's go."

"You go ahead, then" Goldmoon smiles at the dwarf. "I'll follow."

Crossing over the bridge, Laurana stamps her feet on the surface. "This does feel better." She waits by the side, watching others pass, until Tanis passes.

"What do you think it is we are looking for?" She asks, moving in close.

Sturm crosses the bridge, keeping an eye on both the dwarf and Goldmoon, aware the Plainsman would probably be glaring at him. He was doing his duty.

The party begins crossing the makeshift bridge, finding the footing much better than the earlier vine bridge. Once they are all on the log and crossing, Riverwind halts suddenly. Two creatures step out of the brush ahead of them. Anyone glancing behind them will see four more of the creatures gathering there.

The creatures in question are lizard-like with wings. They walk on two feet, wear armor, and carry long swords like men, though. The ominous words of the Forestmaster spring to mind. Did she not mention a terrible army of lizardmen called 'draconians'?



Before anyone can really react, all six of the beastmen begin chanting in the spidery language of magic. A wave of drowsiness sweeps over the group, but everyone is able to fight it off...save Flint, who collapses on the bridge, snoring loudly.

Laurana shakes slightly at the sight of the creatures, she does not see Flint fall, but she hears it never the less, hands shaking she goes for her bow. Instinct taking over she moves to the left and lets off two arrows at the first creature.

1d8=1, 1d8=8 1 damage for the first, and 8 for the second. damn.

Sturm draws his blade fighting off the sleep, gives the creatures a Knights salute and engages.

1d20=1, Oh Dear, Sturm just fumbled with Brightblade! I guess it was that salute!

Goldmoon moves to the right, and if that gives her a clear shot (not endangering Riverwind), she'll fire her sling at the draconian No. 2.
