Perfect Val thinks. She approaches the door and walks in.

"While I understand wanting to get revenge on the woman," Jocelyn says. "That really goes against the teachings of Octhanus," she explains with a small smile. "The best idea is to be the bigger person, don't stoop down to her level by acting like her. While the words that she said to you might have hurt, don't show that they meant anything to you. She might not mean the apology, but accept it anyway, and go on about your life as if she didn't exist. You don't have to be friends with a woman that treats you that way."

"Thank you." Passing the lady four gold pieces, "For three nights, and your trouble." Sipping the drink slowly she adds, "Do you know a young man called Andar? He is an old friend, I came to look him up."

Temple of Octhanus
"Just ignore her?" the woman asks. "But doesn't Octhanus also teach us to be neighborly and part of the community?"

Red Sirine Inn
The old woman scoops up the gold pieces quickly. "Andar? Wait, I know that name. Andar, Andar...oh, yes! The young man who is always going to visit Pastor Blaine. She's helping him with...I don't know, some mental problem or something."

It's at that moment that none other than Val walks in. She sees Areilon at the bar. She hasn't changed at all, even in a year, although her clothes seem fancier than the half-orc remembered.

Ouragana retrieves the letter from her sash and, with a slight bow, hands it to Tantagel. "Thank you for your welcome" she smiles. "This seems to be a pleasurable town."

"Pastor Blaine? Young lady, quite serious-?" Arei asks, suddenly lost for words, "Val? What....? A glass of beer for my friend please?" Jumping up she rushes to embrace the Half Orc tightly, "How..?"

Val is shocked to run into a friend in this little backwater town. "I am as shocked as you." Val hugs Arei in greeting as well. When they break, she grabs her by the shoulders and looks her up and down. "You look well."

"The Bullring was good for me, the Sisters allowed me to stay on board." Smiling she pulls out a chair, "Come, sit, tell me how you got here, and even why you are here!"

"That doesn't mean you have to be friends with her," Jocelyn points out. "It interpret it to mean that you should be polite to your neighbors. Besides, there is more to the community than just this one woman," she adds.

Val is happy to sit down and glad for some familiar companionship. "Well, Mist and I have just been bouncing around, traveling as we see fit. Going new places, nothing important."

"I'm glad you are here, its almost if you knew I was coming... but then I guess you did, Andar lives here, I promised to meet him here." Sitting cross legged she motions to the half elf once more.

"Sorry, an old friend I havent seen it in a long time, could I have a beer for her?" She asks, her attention returning to Val, "Are you staying Val? I'd love you to."

"Sorry you mentioned Andar was seeing Pastor Blayne was helping Andar? Would you be able to direct me to the Church?" She asks, her attention flipping back to the barmaid.

Temple of Octhanus
"But what's to stop her from doing it again, or even something worse, if I just sit by and do nothing?" the young woman asks.

Red Sirine Inn
The innkeeper brings a beer for Val and asks for half a silver in payment. "Yes, the new pastor, Pastor Blaine," she says. "She's been here nearly a year now. The temple is to the northeast of town; can't miss it, big fence around it and all."

Mayor's House
"It's not much, but it's home," Tantagel says with a shrug. "In any case, it was nice meeting you. I hope you enjoy your stay here, however long that may be."

"If you don't invite her over again, she won't do it again," Jocelyn says. "And you aren't doing nothing, you are proving the woman wrong by being the bigger person. If she starts spreading rumors, and people see you being an intelligent woman with a good home and good husband, then she is just making herself look bad."

"Thank you." Arei says passing over 5 silver before Val can react. "I will go and check it out soon, we go way back with the Pastor.." Grinning she sips her wine.

"So I am dismissed?" Ouragana asks Tantagel. "Where would be a good place to stay?" she adds as an afterthought.
