The concept of a cake full of deep fried batter is quite alarming to me. I enjoy thin and crispy batter on fish & chips but find it too stodgy when there is a lot of it.
This week has been great weather in the UK. Hoping for an Indian summer!

@Jenara, Yes! I fell asleep in the Sun out in the garden :)

@Jaded, Oh dear. I did enjoy the portion size increase when I've been on holiday, but some things just seem a step too far!

After spending the weekend playing MarioKart with my daughter and the repeated schoolings, I have come to the conclusion that I suck at just about any video game released after 1997. :bash:

But Mariokart came out in 1993.

Or are you playing one of the newer versions? (I still have my SNES version.)

Mario Kart 8 Wii U.
It's a great game. I can actually beat a few of the cups in the 50cc class. However that's as far as it goes.

I guess each and every one of you would beat me at any video game. I haven't played any since the bygone days of the Atari console and Space Invaders, Pac Man and the like. And I was so bad at it that I simply lost interest.
There's more to me than meets the eye...

I actually still have my Atari 2600 from when I was a kid. It still works even!

I quit buying game consoles when computer gaming kicked off with Doom and Quake. :shootem:

I probably wouldn't have bought the Wii U if not for my daughter. I might have a shot if there was some to to hook a mouse and keyboard up to it. Or better yet a flightstick.

I'm largely a PC gamer myself. My last console was a PS2, so that was two console generations ago.

Horizon got a Wii back when they came out, and I tried a couple of games on it, but for the most part I just found the controls too difficult after a lifetime of using a d-pad controller or a keyboard and mouse.

By the way, I had a blast at the local fair. I stayed away from the funnel cake and other fried foods, although I did have ice cream and cotton candy. And like...three root beers. *belch*
