Val readies her trident and bow, but her axe is still being carried by Andar.

The party disembarks from the ship. All along the shore are a number of buildings, most of them warehouses for cargo. Further north is the city wall. The gate is just ahead of where the party docked. It hangs open, and there are no guards protecting it.

The party can remain near the harbor and try to search it for survivors or go into the city proper.

==========

(OOC: The navigation proficiency is pretty useless on land, according to the PHB.

Here's a map of the city again.)

Val readies an arrow and proceeds forward through the gate, looking for threats. "How are we going to tell the good guys from the bad guys?"

"It shouldn't be hard to figure out who the good guys are and the bad guys are," Jocelyn says. "But in this mess, I would think that both are probably injured."

"I guess it depends on the definition who is »good« and who is »bad«. I'm sure both sides here claim they're the good ones" Ouragana observes drily.

"Does it really matter in this case?" Jocelyn asks. "They both are going to need help, most likely. I'm not going to pick a side."

"I agree with you, Jocelyn" Ouragna states flatly."We shouldn't take sides."

The party heads through the gate and comes to a crossroad. The road continues north, toward what appears to be a town square. To the west the road seems to lead toward a hill where, most likely, the wealthiest citizens of the city live. The road to the east seems to extend further into the poorer district of the city.

Jocelyn look down each road, then pointed towards the road that leads to the poorer district. In this big mess, she figured that most people were all ready helping the wealthy people. "That way," she says. "And everyone be on your guard."

Uneasily, Ouragana loosens the mundane dagger in its sheath in her sash while keeping closely to Jocelyn, too. "Watch your step" she tells Bearos when he comes so close that she fears he might tread on Jocelyn's robes.

The party heads east, sticking close together. Takit whines softly, unnerved by the smell of smoke and blood everywhere. Using the illuminated silver piece, Ouragana lights the way, chasing away the immediate darkness so that those without infravision can still see in the dark.

They reach another intersection in the street. Here the road branches to the north and the east. Directly south of them is the city wall.

In the center of the intersection lie several bodies. A quick count reveals there are eight in total. They are of various races, genders and ages. Most of them look to have died rather violently. Their throats or chests have been slashed open or parts of their bodies or faces have been chewed off.

"So we have animals taking part in these fights, too" Ouragana remarks as they see the bodies. "The moons are not full."
