Re: FC1 - CH 1: Welcome to Sturnheim
"How would I know that?" Hallie asks. "I'm as new to this place as you are. Ask Rosamund."
Upon asking Rosamund, the red haired waitress tells her, "Miranda's is to the southeast. It's hidden behind a big clump of trees. As for Mama, she's at the mayor's. It's the big mansion straight south of here."

"Do you know where Poot lived?" Tavi asks curiously.
Re: FC1 - CH 1: Welcome to Sturnheim
"Old Poot? Yeah, he lived over in the southwestern part of town. It's kind of a slummy part of town, though--you don't want to go there," Rosamund cautions her. "Believe me, I know."

"Right, thanks," Tavi says. Turning, she heads out of the inn quickly, and makes her way to Miranda's like she was told to do last night.
Re: FC1 - CH 1: Welcome to Sturnheim
It takes a couple of minutes to get to Miranda's, as her house is in a difficult to reach place. As Rosamund told her, Tavi finds the run down shop hidden behind a cove of trees. Had she stumbled upon the place before, Tavi might have thought it abandoned. It could certainly use a coat of paint, and the weeds are growing wild all around it.
She finds the door unlocked, so steps inside. The place is filled with shelves of potions, salves, and ointments. On the counter are a number of small buckets containing all manner of herbs, plants, and flowers.
"Coming, coming," a voice calls out from the back. Miranda steps out. "Oh, it's you, dearie. I honestly didn't expect you to come over so early, especially with those wounds. I hope you managed to sleep all right."

"I've been through worse," Tavi admits with a sheepish grin. "Plus, I have a lot to do today, so I made you my first priority."
Re: FC1 - CH 1: Welcome to Sturnheim
"Well, my services come to 10 gold pieces," she says casually. "And since you are still wounded, I have some minor healing brews here you can purchase, for 3 gold a piece," she adds, gesturing to half a dozen bottles on the counter.

"Ten gold pieces?!" Tavi says. "I have to keep what I have so that my sisters and I can at least have a place to sleep at night," she says with a shake of her head. "I can't afford that."
Re: FC1 - CH 1: Welcome to Sturnheim
"Well, I'm sorry dearie, but we all need to make a living." After a pause, though, she adds, "Although...there may be another way we can work things out. There's a forest south of town where I go to collect the herbs and roots I need to make my salves and poultices, and what have you. But a group of centaurs have started chasing anyone who gets near away, and it's really hurting my business. If you could go and collect some for me, we could call it even. I'd even throw in a couple of potions on the house. I have a list here of everything I need."

"Okay, but I'm not in any condition to be fighting centaurs," Tavi points out. "I suppose I can try to figure out why they are doing what they are doing."
Re: FC1 - CH 1: Welcome to Sturnheim
"It doesn't matter to me, just as long as you can get those herbs and roots for me," she says, handing Tavi a list. Fortunately, the list includes little detailed drawings of the things she is to look for, because Tavi is completely illiterate.

"Well, I'll see what I can do then," Tavi says. She walks out of the shop while she looks over the list. She shrugs a little as folds up the list, and puts it in her pocket. Her next destination is the blacksmith so she can pick up her sword.
Re: FC1 - CH 1: Welcome to Sturnheim
Tavi heads back to the armory shop, but finds it closed. Then she remembers the gnome told her the sword would be ready by lunchtime, and it was still just a bit past 7:00 AM.

"Right," Tavi says to herself. "I'm not use to being up this early."
With a sigh, Tavi heads to the militia headquarters, and knocks on the door.

Re: FC1 - CH 1: Welcome to Sturnheim
There is no need to knock on the door, as they are open. Stepping inside, she finds herself in a small waiting room. There's a desk with a guard standing by, although he's not wearing his helmet. He seems to be doing paperwork. He looks up when she enters. "Let me guess...someone stole your sweetroll?" he asks.
