Re: CH. 4 - False Gods
Gregeddin wakes up late but spritely. His parents already off to work, often before first light, he found himself alone in the narrow house. The chill of outside knocking at the door he eyed the singed black cloak longingly. How nice and warm it looked, but he abstained, knowing there was still a risk of being recognised. Instead he opts for the tepid shell of his leather.
With his newfound energy and his now healthy body, he decides to head down to the market, pick up some bread and soup for breakfast and try to catch any conversation between holy guard.

"Aha, so you remembered!" Norris teases. He's probably in the best mood Kendra has seen him in months. "Your family will probably be arriving soon. They were going to get the Seeker priest first before arriving."
He steps into the kitchen and returns with a full plate of fried eggs and bacon, setting it down before Kendra with a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice--rather difficult to come by in the autumn.
Gregeddin (Marketplace Square)
Gregeddin acquires some soup and bread for breakfast for a silver piece. The hot soup helps to warm him up a bit and fight off the chill in the air.
After that, he wanders about, keeping an eye out for Holy Guard. He does spot a pair patrolling the area, bundled up in thick clothing and cloaks. He tries to get close enough to eavesdrop without appearing conspicuous.
"Damned cold," says the first one.
"Good," says the second. "Maybe it'll be too cold to riot and we'll actually be able to take it easy for the winter."
"Even better, maybe the winter will be harsh enough to thin out the refugees some."
"That's a terrible thing to say!"
"Aye, it is. But not as terrible as the city burning to the ground from mass riots or everyone starving to death when there isn't enough food to go around. We're spread too thin as it is."
"I heard another one quit, too."
"Not another one?"
"Yeah, she stormed out of the captain's office and never came back. That was a few days ago."
"Feels like we're on a sinking ship, doesn't it? Everyone is jumping overboard to save themselves. But the truth is, if the ship goes down, we're all doomed."
"Every night I pray to the gods to save us from this mess. But I'll be damned if I can come up with a way out of it. Maybe Haven is just doomed and that's all there is to it."

Gregeddin spends 1 silver piece.
(OOC: I think Kendra mentioned getting married in passing, but not the specific date.)

"And it seems you are spoiling me too," Kendra says as she looks over the plate full of food. Not that she is complaining about being spoiled, but she just hadn't expected it.

"Well, this is a good day to celebrate, isn't it?" Norris asks in good humor. "It's our wedding day, we may as well spoil ourselves a bit. Besides, who knows? You may well be eating for two soon enough!"

Kendra looks up at Norris with wide eyes. "Uh, let's not get too ahead of ourselves." It was bad enough she was getting married at this point. She didn't want to bring children into just yet! Though, she wasn't going to waste a good meal like this, so she started eating.

"Actually, it's a little strange that you haven't had a child yet," Norris notes. "I hope that doesn't mean anything..." They both finish the meal shortly after.

"I'm sure I'm fine," Kendra says. "I just rather not throw a child into the mix just yet."
Re: CH. 4 - False Gods
Gregeddin chomped away on breakfast as he perused the stalls and lanes. The conversation he overhead pleased him, perhaps the murders of two nights ago were not the guards top priority. He wondered how many guards were actually left these days if drop outs are becoming a regular event.
Satisfied with his findings he walks over to Raetmal s shop to see how he is and inform the others of his optimistic findings. On arrival, he knocks loudly at the door and waits for an answer.

Re: CH. 4 - False Gods
Tulbas peeks at the window and quickly let Gregeddin in. "Don't knock that hard next time. Have you forgot already about the black robed mage looking for my uncle?"
Re: CH. 4 - False Gods
"Just wanted to make sure your heard, your uncle's room is quite far in the back of the store." Gregeddin says lightly as he enters. "How is he doing today?"
"Morning Darga, you all right? Good news, down the market all the Holy Guard are concerned with is the decline in their numbers, nothing was mentioned of the deaths down by the docks. Perhaps suspicion is fading."

Re: CH. 4 - False Gods
Darga shakes his head in vigorous disagreement. "That's not what I been hearin'. If'n th' guardsmen have other problems, they still ain't forgot th' people we murdered. We still need ta lay low."
Re: CH. 4 - False Gods
Gregeddin blurts out in surprise, "Oh! That is a shame to hear. There hasn't been a hint of that trouble on the northern side of the city far away from the docks. What can we do in the mean time? another large event might draw their gazes."

"Well, we have the rest of our lives together to worry about that," Norris admits. He gets up and starts picking up the empty plates. "I suppose for now, we should discuss the honeymoon. Now, I'm afraid after buying all that treasure from your friends, I'm rather broke at the moment. I'll need to find a way to sell it all off first, and it's unlikely I'll do that here in Haven. I'll have to schedule a trip to somewhere else, perhaps New Ports. But that may have to wait until the spring, when things warm up again. Well, long story short, we might not get to go until the summer. But did you have any idea where you would like to go? I know you've shown an interest in Palanthas before."

"I would still like to go to Palanthas, but I'm not sure if that is meant for a honeymoon," Kendra admits. "Aren't honeymoons suppose to take place on a beach or something like that?"

"Fer startin', we shouldn't be goin' 'round town all together like; they were talkin' 'bout th' whole mess o' us together...or they said they were lookin' fer a dwarf like me an' a blonde lass like Kendra. If'n they know 'bout me an' her, they probably got you an' th' elf lad an' the gnome, too. Then, I suppose gettin' out o' town fer a while would be good."
