Ouragna crouches down between andar and Areilon. "Easy..." she tells the young fighter, smiling. "Thanks to Octhanus and Jocelyn, you just escaped death."

Before anyone can act, the remaining monster gives off a loud croak, just like the original did before. The soundwaves wash over all of those within twenty feet of the beast, stunning them. Baeros, Val, Brock and Takit all find that they cannot move or act as their ears ring and heads spin from the sonic attack.

This leaves everyone completely helpless, save for Jocelyn, who arrives on the scene afterward. She comes up around behind the monster and summons a blade of pure flame from her hands. This is just in time for her Prayer spell to wear off, too.

Ouragana, meanwhile, moves up to where Jocelyn had been standing originally and crouches down by the unconscious elf and dazed mariner. "I...I failed again," Andar mumbles, too weak to even sit up.

"Shit," Jocelyn says as she makes her attack on the frog like creature. If anything, she hopes to get its attention on her while the others try to recover from the croak.

The monster kneels down by the stunned Takit and gently slices a small incision in the dog's side with its talon. It then places its palm over the wound and there's a strange squishing sound. When it removes its palm from the wound, there is no visible difference, but the monster seems pleased.

That pleasure is soured when Jocelyn strikes it from behind with her flame blade. The creature roars out in pain, having not even noticed the cleric before. An oozing burn mark is left on its back. Outraged, the creature stands and turns to face her menacingly.

The creature either cannot or will not answer Jocelyn. She swings her flame blade at it again, but this time the creature is ready for her. It easily hops back, avoiding the flame, then tears into her. Her vestments prove to be of little defense against his sharp claws and teeth. When it is finished, she's left bloodied, but still standing.

At around this time, Val, Baeros, Brock and Takit start to come to. Their ears stop ringing and their heads cease spinning.

Ouragana had been almost paralysed with fear and despair when she saw Jocelyn facing the monster alone, but then she suddenly has an idea. she jogs over within Cantrip range. Stnading there, she casts moving lights to appear in front of the monster's eyes, hoping to distract its aim. then she draws her dagger, ready to defend herslef if she is the next target.

(assuming full defense)

OOC: My idea was that the light causes a distraction and thus an initiative penalty, similar to being surprised

Jocelyn knew she wasn't much of a fighter, but she did what she had to do to make sure that the others were safe as they were stunned. Now, she was wobbling on her feet. She didn't know if the others were able to move yet, so she continued with her attack.

Standing up, Ouragana moves away from Andar and Areilon, positioning herself at least 10 feet away from the monster. She conjures up a simple cantrip, a few motes of lights, to distract it for a few extra seconds.

This does little to help, though. Takit, Val, Baeros, Brock and Jocelyn all fail to deal any damage to the monster whatsoever. Indeed, Baeros even loses his grip on his long sword in the process. The monster, however, has little difficulty in tearing into Jocelyn. Her ring of protection and little shield offer little defense. The priestess stumbles back, critically wounded, with her vestments in tatters and bloodied.

Ouragana runs around the group to get to Jocelyn, supporting her in her effort to get away from the monster.
"If you have any healing power left, you should use it on yourself, and quick" she states the obvious.
