"Looks like only one other way to go," Ulster says, pointing to the southern tunnel. "Shall we?"

The tunnel winds southward for about forty feet before splitting into two branching tunnels. One of the tunnels heads southeast and the other stretches west.

"Great," Ulster says. "No wonder the Shroom fled down here. He could have gone either way."

"Could you tell which way they went Babuskha?" Jerrard asks as they reach the fork in the tunnel.

Locky considers running on, but pauses. (What is down each tunnel?)

Looking down the southeast tunnel with her infravision, she sees that after about thirty feet, it opens up into a larger cavern. Looking down the western tunnel, the kender sees it extends about forty feet before splitting off into another fork, one heading northwest and the other south.

"I will try to, but it is difficult in these rocky caves" Babushka answers Jerrard's request and bends down to examine the ground and walls.

1d20=16, fail

"I'm sorry, but I can't find anything."

"You tried, you could do no more." Glancing where he assumed the Kender would be he smiles, "We will let Locky choose the way, come." Jerrard announces to Bab and Ulster. "Locky, where are you?"

Locky runs back over, "South east, that looks like fun." The Kender replies excitedly, grabbing Babuskha's hand excitedly. "Isn't this fun?" The invisible Kender asks, bouncing on, she can barely be heard, apart from the occasional "ooo"

The southeast tunnel brings the party to a large chamber, thirty feet wide and forty-five feet long. This cavern contains two dark pools, one about twenty feet across and the other about ten feet in diameter. There is another tunnel to the east.

"Locky, do you have something to throw along the path, to tell if there's anything in the ponds that reacts to movement?" Babushka asḱs the kender.

She readies herself for a fight, paying attention to the fungus staff now loosely slung around her left wrist.

Reaching into her pouches Locky producer some color hankerchiefs, a tooth of what maywell be a dragon, and some glass marbles.

"These should do. she says grinning, placing them in her sling she lets each loose.

"Locky, no!" Jerrard exclaims, but its too late, (assume this makes Locky visible? I'd rule its am attack myself.)

The marbles plop into the pools, but the moment they splash into the larger one, Babushka's fungus staff snaps to attention. A giant frog, at least two feet in length and weighing about a hundred pound, hops out of the water and looks around for whoever disturbed its pool. But it does not seem to see Locky. It does turn and notice the light from Ulster's torch, however.

=======================

(OOC: I don't consider tossing marbles in a pool to be an attack.)

Giant Frog's surprise roll (1d10-3): 7, nobody is surprised

Party's Initiative (1d10): 1
Enemy's Initiative (1d10): 7

"Locky! I asked you to toss things along the path, not into the pool!" Babushka exclaims in exasperation.

She approaches the frog and, using her ranger's abilities, waits for its reaction to calm it down, allowing them to pass unmolested.

(Ooc thought thats what she did! They were not supposed to go in the pool!)

"Oops!" Locky mutters to herself, grinning in a typically Kender way, "Ooo A Giant frog, I wonder what it eats?" She grins.

Babushka steps forward and begins quietly murmuring soft words to soothe the giant amphibian. However, the creature does not seem effected.

=======================

(OOC: Ah, sorry if I misinterpreted. It wasn't very clear to me.)

Babushka attempts to use Animal Empathy on the giant frog. It fails. (According to the Ranger's Handbook, animal empathy cannot be used on creatures with an INT score of 0, like giant frogs, sorry.)

(Jerrard, Ulster, and Locky to go this round.)

"It is not a plant, for that I am thankful." Considering how to fight such a creature he speaks the words of magic, letting three bolts of magical energy fly from his fingers, aimed straight at the frog.

1d4+1=3, 1d4+1=2, 1d4+1=4 = 8 dmg.
