Re: CH 3: Trouble Arises
"Understood." Erastin repiles simply, jumping back on Gallen with a shrug, the dead Goblins weighted on his mind. "If anyone wants to rest their legs, please let me know."
He watches Galenye for a moment before shrugging himself and looking away.

Re: CH 3: Trouble Arises
The party presses on for another five hours. By this point, it's now Last Watch and the sun has started to go down. Night will be upon them soon.
Before the party can contemplate on what to do about this, Galeneye spots someone approaching from Solanthus. It would appear to be a small party of kender, chatting and singing among themselves with good cheer.

Re: CH 3: Trouble Arises
"Ohhhh boy," Galenye says softly. "Everyone hold on to their stuff. The kender are coming," she says.
Re: CH 3: Trouble Arises
"Kender? What are kender?" Karathos asks.

Re: CH 3: Trouble Arises
"What? How could you not know what a kender is?" Galenye asks in disbelief. "They pretty much go everywhere."
Re: CH 3: Trouble Arises
"Not to my homelands" Karthos tells Galeyne. "Perhaps we scare them off? And it's quite possible I have seen them around here, bot don't know their name."

"Scare them off?" Galenye asks with a light hearted light. "That is probably a kender's only redeeming quality. They aren't scared of anything. They will walk right up to a blue dragon and start a conversation with one like it was some normal thing to do. Plus, since they are kender, they tend to get off pretty easy when it comes to their thieving skills. A day, maybe in a cell, and they are set lose or they escape on their own. No one tries to chase after them either."
Re: CH 3: Trouble Arises
"Oh, you mean those!" Karathos laughs. "I didn't know their name in Common. We call them something that would translate as... squirmishers?"

Re: CH 3: Trouble Arises
"Kender." Erastin smiles a little, "Interesting, not what I expected to meet on the road, but still." He slips off Gallen and walks next to the rest of the group.
Re: CH 3: Trouble Arises
"Look, look! People on the road," one of the kender exclaims, and the four of them immediately approach, swarming around the party with curiosity and bombarding with questions.
"Wow, a knight, have you killed any dragons? Or ridden any?"
"Hey, what are you? Some kind of cowman? I'm thirsty, can I have some milk?"
"Are you a mage? Quick, magick me! Magick me!"
"Nice beard, mister dwarf. Can I feel it? It looks fuzzy."
All the while, the kender poke and prod at the party's pouches, packs, and gear. One 'oohs' and 'aahs' at the light-gem he just took from Erastin, one fiddles around with some of Galeneye's lockpicks ("I have a set just like this!"), a third tries and juggles with Targin's daggers, while the fourth flips through Jinali's spellbook ("This sure looks boring!")

"Well, if you have a set just like those, can I have mine back?" Galenye asks as she holds out her hands for her set of lock picks.
Re: CH 3: Trouble Arises
"I had a Gem just like that, may I see please?" The would be knight smiles, trying to keep his cool. "And no, I havent seen or fought any dragons."
Re: CH 3: Trouble Arises
Targin is annoyed very quickly with the group of Kender, Holding his hand out expecting his daggers to re=appear in his hand.
Re: CH 3: Trouble Arises
Karathos laughs at the kender merrymaking. "No, I'm not a cow-man, I'm a bull man, and bulls don't give milk, or do they?" He picks one kender by the belt with each of his arms and gives them a ride like on a carousel. His backpack is a little too high for the kender to reach...

Re: CH 3: Trouble Arises
"Oh, are these yours?" the kender answers Galeneye innocently. "You must have dropped them. Here you are," he says, handing the kit back to her, with most of the tools still present.
"Did you?" replies another to Erastin. "Well, here, you can have this one then," he adds, handing him the eagle-shaped gem. "I have a whole mess of 'em I found just lying around in Solanthus. Wanna see?" He pulls out several from his pockets, including one shaped like a stag and another like a horse.
Targin manages to take back his daggers, and presumably Jinali retrieves her spellbook, as she rather needs that.
Selowen takes off her pack and then holds it over her head, while standing on her tiptoes, to keep the kender away from her stuff. "Erastin...do something!" she hisses between clenched teeth.
Unfortunately, Karathos' little rides only encourage the kender further. "Hey, it's getting dark," squeaks the female of the group. "Let's make camp here tonight, with our new friends!" She claps her hands in excitement.
"Great idea," says another. "I found a bunch of Solanthian mead when we were still in town. Anyone want some?"
