The Dried Oasis.

[The_Muffin_Man]

Hrothgar rolls his eyes at Midnight but closes the door and leans up against the door jamb.

[Jenara]

"Thank you Hrothgar." Hazel say with an attempt at a smile.

[Korgen]

The captain lowers his voice, " First of all. I fear we have a spy within the guards. Our infromant made claims that the bandits would always be one step ahead of us. No matter what we think of. my only guess is that we have atleast one spy here." At this point his voice picks up alittle. " They seem to have over 50 bandits just within their base. He wouldn't give us exact numbers."

[Jenara]

"Then we need to find out who the spy is.." Her mind shifts to Mary.. "Perhaps a trap is in order.." she gives Gelpas a grin, "Misinformation would be useful, how many men do you have here?." She asks, ushering the big warrior closer.

[The_Muffin_Man]

"You think there's a traitor among your ranks? Why would one of your men betray you?"

[Korgen]

Gelpas glances up the big man. " Many people are motived by their own lives or money. We have no evidence or true reasoning to think anyone of them is a spy. But I like to be sure. As for our numbers.. we have about 5 guards aside from myself, and volunteers from the village help out when we need them."

[The_Muffin_Man]

Hrothgar rubs his jaw a little bit in thought. "if you have so few and there are so many bandits, why haven't they just invaded and conquered your town yet?"

[Jenara]

"They seem content to steal people, and boost their numbers." Hazel suggests, "It is a common trick, used quite widely."

"The numbers would be a problem, how can we hope to plan an assault that way?" Leaning on his desk she shakes her head. "And they numbers are from the word of a Bandit."

[Korgen]

"If they take over the town, everyone will know where they are. That's our theory atleast." Gelpas pauses for a moment. " I'll be frank. I can't handle this situation. We managed by with only a hope that they were stealing people because they lacked numbers dramatically. I don't think it would be wise to send anyone aganist them right now."

[Jenara]

"I have been tracking these people too long to let them go now." She responds flatly, "You need someone to go there, and see what you are up against fully. A scouting mission as I planned, now we know better where they are, I shall be more successful." Motioning to the warrior she adds. "If you wish to come, I would appreciate the aid."

"As for your spy, tell your men you know there is a spy, and that I have been sent to find them, lets see who comes knocking at the door." She winks, perhaps the spy was already in her room, she needed to talk to that girl, perhaps honesty was the only way.

[The_Muffin_Man]

Hrothgar nods. "Of course I'll join you. It sounds like quite a bit of fun."

[Jenara]

"Good. It pains me to say it, but I appreciate the help." Forcing a smile she looks back at Gelpas. "And the other one, he seems to be useful."

[Korgen]

Gelpas sighs lightly. " When do you intend to head out of town again?"

[Jenara]

"You sound like you do not want me to go." Hazel suggests, looking at him quizzically, "I plan to head out in the morning, I have a bed, perhaps I should enjoy it." Tapping the desk lightly with her fingers she regards the Captain with interest, how could one tie themselves to another? The pain of loosing them must be unbearable.

"Plus I need to talk to my charge, she might be staying, thus will need someone to keep an eye on her." She offers, giving him a little grin, "She is a handful."

[Korgen]

The captain grins slightly towards Hazel. ' Of course I would rather you become my personnal assistant then run off to fight bandits." The captain laughs at this own joke.
