"My dear, your life is in your hands, not ours." Arei says a dark look crossing her elven features, "It always was. But I get it, you are torn.." Standing she paces around the room, obviously thinking.

Suddenly she stands stunned, almost as if a crossbow bolt had slammed through her chest. "I don't know if I can..." Sitting on the floor she looks up at Joyceln. "I know of the vessel." she manages to say after a few minutes.

"I can probably get on the crew.." still on the floor she looks at Oura. "It is not the sort of vessel you will feel comfortable on, stay and guard her.. I'll take Val with me."

"She might have a good reason for all I know! If you are that innocent, come stand behind me and we will set this clear. Just drop your weapon first and stop running!" Baeros shouts again.

There really isn't time to talk about this further, so the human changes course and heads toward Baeros. He isn't carrying a weapon, at least that Baeros can see. He stops behind him, using the ranger as a shield between him and Val.

"Watch out, she's dangerous," the man warns Baeros. "Orcs and ogres, you know how they are, right?"

"How do you know of the vessel?" Jocelyn asks. "And Oura isn't going to be the best of the guard," she adds, glancing to the mage. "No offense, but you don't really know any spells, from what I've seen, that could protect me."

"Yes, I know enough about Ogres..." mumble Baeros under his breath, grudging his teeth. "But orcs are not the same... Not at all...". Believing the human behind him represent no major threat, but still not completely trusting him, Baeros takes instinctively two steps forward and to the side, not to leave his back exposed, and shouts to the half Orc "All this exercise makes me a little bit snappy. Why don't you lower your weapon and we will all solve it in a civilized manner?"

"Then let Val stay, she won't mind. We need to discuss Andar." She responds, trying to avoid the first question. "The ship...? You forget I'm over a hundred, I've sailed the oceans for over eight years, you tend to meet and hear of most ships.." Her answer is somewhat evasive, a half truth perhaps.

"Oura would be useful, she is more... subtle than Val." Letting out a little sigh she lowers her head. "Am I pushing you all into this?" she adds.

As the chase comes to an end, Val slows to a walk and hefts her trident menacingly. "Out of my way man, that one is mine. He tried to kill my friend."

Baeros, glad to see the half Orc slows down, frees his breath, lowers his sword to the level of the waist, and half turns toward the human so he can watch both of them. "Ok... So you say this person here tried to kill your friend... Do you have any witnesses by any chance?"

"Yes," Jocelyn says bluntly. "And people don't normally look like they have been punched in the stomach at the mention of a pirate ship, so don't dance around the question. Also, Andar can wait. He isn't going anywhere."

"There are three others that can say the same." Val looks back and forth at them both "He is not getting away, dead or alive he is coming back with me."

Three other crazy bandits you mean... Baeros thinks to himself.

"Lets ease that tension, all of us..." says Baeros after casually letting a soft short whistle out, bringing his dog Takit to attention still hidden in the bush...
Focusing his attention on the human but speaking to the Half Orc Baeros asks "And where are those witnesses exactly?"

"I think the real problem of protecting Jocelyn is that when doing her duties, she has to see people alone and in confidence, so someone could sneak up on her again." Ouragana says.
"I have learnt a few spells, one allows me to trap oppnents in a web like a spider's. I think I should go to my room and memorise that right away, together with the sleep spell. I will come back when I'm done."
She waits for an acknowledgement from Jocelyn or Areilon before leaving the temple.

"I'd guess they are at Pastor Jocelyn's church. Back that way." Val throws a thumb behind her. "He tried to murder the Pastor."

"I promised I'd be here, and I am." She responds, almost ignoring both the comment from Oura, and from Joyceln.

"You..." she groans, "You arent going to let this go, are you?" Sighing she lowers herself to the nearest pew, "We are more alike than you know. Ethan.." she giggles, a silly girly laugh. "I boarded the Poison curse eight years ago looking for excitement.. I ended up in his bed after a week." She grins, a wide grin from ear to ear.

"Yes, he liked them young, I can attest to that, I wasnt even considered a woman to my own people." She pauses, her voice faltering, "He probably never mentioned me, but I shared his bed and fought on his ship for two years... but the life was not for me. It felt wrong."

"He did what???"
"Wait, didn't you say he tried killing your friend? Now the town pastor? Is the pastor also half Orc???"

Baeros aims the point of his sword at the human. "Never mind that. Whether you admit to these accusations or not, it would be best if I'll accompany you two to the pastors church. I'll keep you safe until we are there, and if you are innocent it will surely be discovered soon enough. Agreed?" Baeros asks both the human and the half Orc.
