Re: Tree Lords II
"If I'm correct, the kirath are what you called the elven rangers. Two of them have been our guides so far. Lareth, the last one, said he or another kirath would find us when we continue west to guide usThey will not expect us at the ruins, but a day's worth of travel further west."
She turns to Fikod and asks: "Tell me, where exactly does the underway lead? Is it large enough for our horses to travel through? Then it might be a more convenient way to reach our destination than fighting our way through this forest"

Re: Tree Lords II
Fikod's eyebrows jump at Babushka's explanation. "Are ye not worried that it was possibly yer guides who challenged the Daergar? Perhaps this may be a blessing indeed, if the elves were not cut down. I expect those bandits would want to 'interrogate' yer friends for the whereabouts of more treasure, or just for the sport..."
He sighs the deep sigh of a dwarf who's narrowly avoided a terrible fate before addressing her next question. "The underway once spanned all of Ansalon, if the rumors from the Age of Heroes can be trusted. But with the fall of Istar... I know not for certain what remains, the Daergar were me guide here. Though if they stretched this far East, there is some hope. Ye may also have trouble feeding yer mounts in the lightless deep, but they will fit, at certain parts at least."

"I'm not sure the horses would agree to go underground," Ulster points out. "The donkeys, sure. And maybe the ponies. But it's very difficult to coax a horse to go down below."
"There are probably plenty of things to fight underground, too," Thuskar states. "Maybe things worse than what's up here. At least on the surface, we have sunlight for half the day and plenty of grazing for the ponies and donkeys."

"My horse isn't going to go underground," Imani says. "And I'm surprised that you would want to go underground, Babushka. I thought you were more of a forest person. Personally, I would rather stay in the forest. It is kind of pretty out here."
Re: Tree Lords II
Babushka smiles at Imani. "I am an oddity among my race, Imani. Gnomes are underground dwellers mostly. We like the green growths, to be sure, but many of us don't venture to places wherer they can't go underground for the night.
Good, so using the underway is out of the question." she continues. "But I think we should look at those ruins, and see how the battle between kirath and daergar turned out."

Re: Tree Lords II
"I have no intention of going underground, not if we can help it." Jerrard agrees, "None of the horses would even consider it, I remember rescuing the last horses that were underground."
"Yes Imani, the forest is pretty, if the stories are to be believed it was once a greater sight..." He rubs his beard once more, "Which way are these ruins? I will leave a mark to indicate where we went for the Kirath."

Re: Tree Lords II
"Lets go then!" Locky grins, pulling on Imani's sleeve.

Re: Tree Lords II
"No more than an hour south." Fikod says, answering Jerrard's query.
Re: Tree Lords II
(The plan would be to mark a tree using a Cantrip, etching the shape of an arrow pointing south, and a "J")
Re: Tree Lords II
Jerrard carves an arrow and his first initial in a tree.
"Good idea," Ulster states. "That way the expert tracker elf rangers will be able to find us."
"Shall we go then?" Thuskar asks, nudging Ulster in the chest with his elbow.

Re: Tree Lords II
"Or anything else for that matter," Imani points out as she allows Locky to tug her along.
Re: Tree Lords II
"If they know what they are looking at." Jerrard responds, giving Imani a little shrug. "Fikod is it? Take point with Babuskha please."
(Suggest order:
Fikod and Babuskha
Jeremy with his mount
Imani and mount
Locky with ponies
Jerrard with Malika
Ulster and Thuskar with Dekker

Re: Tree Lords II
Jeremy readies his bow and knocks an arrow, then takes the stubborn mules reigns and gets set to follow.

Re: Tree Lords II
"You know the way" Babushka gestures to Fikod. She will follow him, but also look for signs and sounds of creatures having passed through this part of forest recently.

Re: Tree Lords II
The dwarven rogue bows shallowly to the rest of the party. "My thanks, if not for ye lot then who knows what might of become of me. With any luck, and a bit of help from the Gods, may ye find yerselves repaid." He casts a playful wink at Babushka as if to say 'keep up if you can' before starting back the way he came. Curiously he moves far more easily and quietly than one might have thought considering his shrub-shaking introduction.
