"Thanks to Locky's connection to Paladine, I am fully in form now, so you needn't worry about me" Babushka smiles at Imani.

After two hours of praying and studying, the casters are ready.

Dara smiles. "I'm not like the other, stuffy Silvanesti. Especially out here in the wild, away from civilization and snooty aristocrats," she says, holding out her arms and twirling a bit in a circle before making an exaggerated curtsey.

She takes the lead with Babushka, with Ulster, Imani and Thuskar behind them, Locky and Jerrard behind them, and finally Jeremy and Fikod watching the back.

Imani watches Dara for a few moments as she twirls, and she smiles slightly. "I wish I could feel that type of...freedom," she says softly mostly to the two men beside her.

"She is very beautiful." Locky says Hoopak in hand as she walks, "She's much nicer than Malika..." She adds under her breath.

The party continues their trek in the forest. "Why can't you?" Thuskar asks Imani softly, never taking his eyes off the elf and gnome before them as he speaks.

"After spending years without freedom, it is hard to go back to something like that," Imani says. "I'm not as carefree as I use to be before I was given to the Khan."

The party travels southward, toward the heart of the forest, for three hours without incident.

It's at this point that Dara's ears perk up and she suddenly calls for a halt. "Something's approaching," she warns.

Sure enough, a small group of ogres approach from the south, looking quite hungry.

"Looks like we found trouble," Dara says with a grin.

"Fikod, Jeremy, Locky, Jerrard, and Babushka, take cover behind the trees," Imani says, taking charge now that she knows that trouble is on the way. "Dara, Ulster, myself, and Thuskar will draw their attention. Fikod and Jeremy, use your bows or crossbows. Jerrard, Locky, you have spells and prayers, so use them. Babushka, use your ranged weapons for the time being. Locky, if you see that one of us is in trouble, then jump in to heal us when you can."

Imani stands back for the time being to make sure that her orders are actually followed before she moves forward with the rest of the front line.

"Paladine be with you." Locky says under her breath, casting Bless on the group before following Imanis direction.

Jerrard moves to the trees (to the left) as he prepares a magic missile to aim at the closest ogre.

Babushka takes cover behind the nearest tree to her left, readying her bow as she does so. She aims for the closest ogre, too, but holds her fire until he is at medium range.

Imani, seeing that everyone is following her orders, pulls out her scimitar's and rushes forward to the ogre directly in front of the group. "Hi," she says as she attacks.

Moving forward, scimitars at the ready, Imani approaches the first ogre and offers a casual greeting before attacking. Her enchanted scimitar slices into the ogre's left leg, but the mundane one misses. The ogre roars in pain, hopping on one foot in an almost comical fashion.

Ulster veers off to the left and approaches one of the females. "Pardon me, ma'am," he says, readying his rusty sword. She swings at him, but he blocks with his shield. The other female walks over to help her, but Ulster manages to block that attack, as well. "Geez, I'm suddenly very popular with the ladies here," he complains.

Fikod quickly finds cover and fires his crossbow at the ogre Imani is fighting. The bolt whizzes right by the creature's ugly ear, causing it to look around. "Me hear a bee?" it ponders, before turning back to Imani.

Jerrard likewise takes cover, then fires a trio of magic missiles at the female Ulster is next to. They all blast into her, causing her to stagger backwards in surprise and pain. Meanwhile, Locky steps forward and starts calling on Paladine's aid in the battle.

Babushka takes cover behind a tree of her own, readies her bow and fires at the ogre fighting Ulster. It only nicks her as it flies by. However, she then realizes that was her last arrow. Checking her pouch, she also realizes that she has no stones for her sling--she gave them all to Ulster for safekeeping. "Oh, dear," she says. "I'm out of ammo," she warns the others.

Dara draws a fancy looking elven short sword and moves toward the ogre fighting Imani. With a boastful laugh, she stabs, but the blade doesn't penetrate the ogre's thick animal hides. Seeing her in trouble, Thuskar comes over to aid her.

Two more ogres, seeing their hated foe--an elf--move in toward Dara. She dodges one attack, but the biggest ogre of the bunch smacks her hard with his open hand, nearly knocking the kirath on her back. A drop of blood trickles down her mouth, but she just licks her lips and smiles.

Rather than seek cover like the others, Jeremy boldly stands out in the open and fires his bow at the ogre fighting Imani twice. Both arrows arc way too high, though, and get caught in some tree boughs.

Finally, Locky finishes her prayer. Thuskar, Babushka, Imani, Dara and the kender herself all feel the warmth of Paladine's strength fill their bodies and give them courage.

(OOC: Breila, you do realize that 'medium range' for a short bow is 300 feet, right? The furthest ogre isn't even a full 100 feet away from her. Also, she can only fire a bow twice per round if she holds still; moving at all negates the extra shot. Well, that and she only had one arrow left.

Jenara, you didn't specify where you wanted to center the Bless spell, so I tried to get as many people in the radius as possible.

Also, sorry guys; I didn't realize until now I hadn't bothered numbering the enemies. This has been corrected.

Imani takes a second to take a look at the battlefield. "Babushka, help Ulster. If you get too hurt, then get out of harms way!" she calls out as she ducks an attack. "Archers, help Dara!"
