The shields are attached to the walls at varying heights. Impossible to say how firmly without touching. In general they carry a lot of rust. Many different coats of arms.

"All that have fallen." Alecia states quietly, making a small motion with her hand she lowers her head and resumes her sketch.

(Perception checks on the shields btw: Perception [1d20+3] = 6+3 = 9 Failed)

The bucket wobbling subsided and both Nix and Evenwood made it safely to the bottom of the well. Sue shakes and yanks on the bucket rope before it disappears up the shaft again into the darkness.

For those still at the top of the shaft it feels an interminable;e wait before the bucket reappears. And then the waiting is over. "Who's next?"

Gesturing toward the wildly dressed elf waiting with him "That would be this gentleman here and myself". Jim crosses over to the bucket and situates himself, deftly balanced on his feet with a hand holding the rope that lowers the bucket.
When Isaril moves to take his place in the bucket, Jim assists in the placing of packs and whatnot until he is satisfied everything is secure. Turning to the gentlemen manning the winch with a surprisingly wild grin on his face, he allows excitement to touch his voice as he cries out "Down the well! And make haste!!"

Finishing her drawing she turns back to the bucket and taps her fingers against the haft of her mace.

The bucket is far above presumably about to bring the remainder of the band.

Nix looks around the room. Faint torchlight flickers far overhead, probably somewhere between 100-200'.

The well shaft enters into a room some 40’square by perhaps 16’ high. It has a sandy floor and there is a plain, 20’ wide archway in one corner of the room. The walls of the room are adorned with many shields.

Calming from Battle Sue starts to check the room. Always happy with his darkvision. One of the few good things he got from his father...
Looking for any other sign of activity in the sand.

"Over there I think." Sue points to the closest place he figures they came from.

[lol, nat 20 for the win. sadly, now that we have a map, it seems pretty obvious they came through the massive archway :/ ]

Evenwood also roles a perception check to see what he notices.

Evenwood notices nothing new but Sue, darkvision obscured by Alecia's Light spell, recognises a some of the coats of arms as being ancient and a few from being from Sembia or Tethir. There is no obvious pattern to their arrangement but they are all closely spaced.

"Am I the only one.. or.." Alecia presses her booted foot slightly into the sand underfoot. "This isn't a sand covered floor, it's like the sand I read about on... What's it called, a beach? I've never seen one but I've heard of it. Does that mean there is water down here?" Letting the mace fall once more on the sand before moving to the archway and slightly beyond, moving as steathly as she can. (i think 24 should be pretty sneaky)

---
Investigation [1d20] = 6 +2 so 8.
Stealth. [1d20] = 20 +4 = 24
