CH 10: The Tharkadan Towers

[Jerrard]

"Perhaps this is a test of your faith?" Sturm comments quietly, standing near the entrance, he turns to Maritta, "The Children are held by the Dragon who cares for them? A strange situation indeed." He rubs his mustaches and thinks for a moment.

"If the Children were freed, would the Men rise up? Knowing that they are free, I would assume that they stay because they are held?" He asks as he looks around, counting the women.

[Jenara]

"Are any of you skilled in using weapons? We will need to fight I assume, to free them, a dragon guarding the children is worrying, very worrying.." The elf maiden turns from Elistan, listening in, they should take some rest, allow their wounds to heal..

"How often do the Dragonmen come down here?" She asks Maritta.

[JadedDM]

Elistan thinks this over. "Very well, I shall read through them when it is possible." The disks contain enough information that it will take several hours to read over them thoroughly.

Maritta nods to Sturm. "If the men knew the women and children were safe, I think they would at least try. None of us are warriors, though. Just housewives, tailors, cooks and such. The dragonmen check on us every few hours, but aren't too worried about us. They know we aren't going anywhere without our children."

[Jerrard]

"Do you get to visit the men, at any time?" He asks, his brain formulating a plan.

[JadedDM]

"Yes," Maritta responds. "Each night, we can visit them and bring them food, to let them see we are safe and tell the children are, too. That is their incentive to keep working."

[Jenara]

"Then perhaps we could go with you?" Laurana asks, "We could find our friends and they can tell the men of the plan.."

[JadedDM]

"Hmm," Maritta ponders. "I suppose we could disguise your group to look like us. It would be wiser to rescue the children first, before seeking out the men. The men are harder to get to, and they won't agree to anything until the children are safe."

"Wait now," Caramon objects. "You wanna dress us up as women? I don't think I'd make a very good woman."

"The dragonmen won't pay you much mind, and I'll go with you to lead the way," the seamstress says.

"I, too, wish to help," Elistan says. "Even if in a small way."

[Nuke]

Riverwind pipes up.

"We should plan to sneak the children away is possible. I do not fancy a dragon fight, especially with so many innocents around."

[Breila]

"Elistan , I think the best way for you to help is to read the disks and pray to Mishakal to grant you powers of healing" Goldmoon tells him earnestly. "There are likely to be many injured people, and the powers I've been given don't last very long."

"In fact, I think the best thing I can do now is to stay here with the women and rest, and then pray to Mishakal for her help again." Goldmoon tells the rest of the group. "I am not good at stealth, and not a very good fighter either."

[Jerrard]

Sturm balks at the idea of dressing as a woman, but he turns to Goldmoon with a smile. "Indeed that would be for the best, you need to be safe. Are you comfortable with such a disguise Riverwind?"

(OOC: In the books the Que Shu make warriors dress up as women for cowardice, but this is our take on it, so we could ignore that.)

"Do you have any heavy cloaks or sheets? Something that I would disguise myself with? Dressing as a woman is dishonorable, but I fear with a Dragon to deal with, you will need my aid." The Knight walks awkwardly, the burning in his legs seeping into his body. Every step was slowly becoming agony.

Elistan nods, and sits back down, starting on the Disks.

Maritta nods. "We have some sheets and cloaks. It shouldn't be a problem. Those of you with facial hair, we'll need to be sure we cover up your face, too."

[Breila]

Goldmoon looks for a quiet spot in a corner of one of the rooms and does her best to get some sleep.

[Nuke]

Riverwind responds, "I have no issues with subterfuge, if it can help us, I will go."

He removes his pack and quiver before drawing a dagger and cleaning the stubble off of his face.

[Jenara]

"Sturm." Laurana says with a hint of concern, "You are hurt, and hurt badly. Please my friend, stay here, guard Goldmoon." The Elf Maiden says taking his arm, "We are going to see the Children, not face a Dragon.."

"Tas, perhaps you should come with us, and stay with the Children, no one will suspect you, and then you can make sure they are safe.." Laurana asks, moving near the kender.

[Kafen]

"Ohhhh, I could sneak in and stay behind!" Tas likes the idea.
