"Where did Oura go?" She asks looking to the door.

"You'll never take me alive!" he swears, brandishing his dagger.

"As you wish, you treacherous creature!" and with that Baeros draws his short sword too, attacking with both weapons.

Val swings again looking to subdue.

"What a surprise"

"Hmm," Jocelyn says. She seems a little hesitant to believe the elf at the moment, but she would see how she acts around Andar when they see each other again. "I think she left," she says, glancing towards the doors. "She said something about studying spells."

"I do not blame you for... distrusting my words." She comments solemnly, "You will see.. I will go and find her, unless there is anything I can do here, while I am waiting?"

"Arellion Landar." she says offering Ursa her hand. "Sailor, blademistress and former Pirate." She adds with a wink.

"Die!" the assassin cries, stabbing at Val and piercing her shark hide armor. Luckily, whatever poison was on the blade before seems to have worn off, because this time she only feels the sharp pain of the blade, but no burning afterward.

Before either Val or Baeros can ready their attacks, Takit strikes, leaping at the assassin and knocking him to the ground before promptly ripping his throat out, making the man's last word quite ironic, indeed.

"Go ahead and go. I need some time to myself to think anyway," Jocelyn says.

Val turns to the human. "Thanks for your help, idiot." Turning back towards town she continues. "First you interrupt my chase, then kill the quarry. What the seven hells.!"

Baeros sheaths his swords and gives Takit a playful rub on the head, "Good boy!! nice work!", then he calls after the Half-Orc, "Wait just a minute... Takit had just saved you. Look, you are the only one here that is wounded.

Before you leave, don't you want to search the body... I'm sorry he can't speak... Usually Takit just bites peoples legs off... I guess he felt this one was a real threat..." Baeros's eyes wonder towards Takit again thoughtfully...

"But you might find something on the body that will explain why did he made an attempt on the Pastor's life, as you said before... or maybe you can find if he had contacts...

I'm escorting my employer Shalek to the village anyway," remembering Shalek Baeros calls, "Shalek! you can come out, it is safe now. And bring the horses with you, we are going to the town"

then he continue speaking to the Half-Orc, "So you can search the body for a while and then we can all go together... I wouldn't think it is best for you to go alone, bleeding like that, where there might be more of that creature friends lurking about...

I'm Baeros Axewielder by the way," Baeros grins, "Would you like some bandages for your wound?"

Ouragana studies her spells (Sleep and Web), then puts her spellbook back into the backpack. She locks her room, leaves the inn and makes her way back to Jocenlyn's temple.

Val keeps walking while Baeros rambles on, but toward the end she stops, closes her eyes and takes a deep breath before spinning around on her heel to face the man again.

"He was an assassin, he won't have any clues on him. But I will take the body to town." Val goes to give the body a quick search before continuing.

"You can join me if you wish and no thanks, it's just a scratch. The name is Val, Val Urgun."

Aside from the leather armor and the dagger, Val finds a small vial of a gel-like substance and a belt pouch with 40 gold pieces. Nothing else of note is found on the assassin's body.

Baeros sarcastically and silently imitates Val to himself "He was an assassin... he will have no clue on his body... you should thank the god GONTO that he has some cloth on... It is just a scratch... I'm the ultimate warrior and nothing hurts me..."

To Val he says "No thanks for saving my life? well, even though, you can STILL put the body on my horse, I'll be walking anyway... Let me just put enough cloth under the body so he won't bleed on Thunder."

After removing the blood soaked cloth, removing the saddle, putting some rags on Thunder and loading the body, Baeros, grinning again, tells Val "Please lead the way..." Then his grin fades and he adds, "So... did you find anything on the body?"
