The 'snake gods' don't live aboveground, so that could be specified. The lush valley is several miles across.

The only lead the party has right now about the Labyrinth is the name "Vytholus", a being from the plane of Pandemonium. Whether or not that entity would be cooperative is a different matter
Which is why I didn't ask which plane/power could give the most accurate answers, but which one would be the best for us to contact for accurate answers. :D
That is for the players/ characters to decide :)
I'm just making sure you have the information available to you to make your decision :D

Do JuJu Zombies have to be made from humans (and/or demi-humans/humanoids)? What would happen if you took, say, a velociraptor (or any other roughly man-sized reptilian predator in the area) and subjected it to the normal process for creating JuJu zombies?

Also, how damp is the jungle here? Are we in a rainy or dry season? Is a major wildfire really a valid concern?

Juju zombies are humanoid only. To make them out of something else a new spell would have to be researched (lots of time and cost)

It's tropical but not a rainforest. a fire elemental walking around unattended will certainly have a chance to start a forest fire

Do any of our wizards know Polymorph Other? Oh wait, the target returns to its natural form when slain. And since you need to kill it to make it undead, that's a bit of a problem if you want it in the polymorphed form. Polymorph any Object? Kill a bug, polymorph its corpse, then cast the animating spells...

And how does one create a troll-zombie? Or undead-troll-anything? Won't anything they can't regenerate from leave a lack of usable corpse?

Has anyone ever tried making undead out of black puddings? That could be rather terrifying...

They are already awful enough, undead black puddings... yeash.

Yeah there is a monstrous zombie spell (Animate dead monster), which includes troll zombies. The caster really only needs a little bit of the body for that particular spell (though lower level spells need a whole body). Ke'Sha clipped a few dead troll fingers for the purpose.

Not sure about raising puddings. My stance has always been they basically melt into a puddle of goo, but I'd probably allow someone properly equipped to research such a spell

Just contemplating the use of the raw materials of the critters we've already encountered. :angel2:

Would Animate Dead be effective in the bone pit? Could we have a legion of skeletons?

You could get some, but would have to sort through the bones to find mostly complete sets, it is just a mess of pieces and parts right now.

Ah, nuts. I was hoping any (mostly) complete skeletons in the area would sort of assemble themselves.

I thought you were against armies of undead... or is it only salient ones? :)
Many years ago a friend of mine commented that having the spell polymorph other, he just captures tons of mice, polymorph each of them to a dragon, and statistically some survive the shock and with their low INT, they becomes true dragons. So he made an army of dragons. It didn't turn out good, but it was fun for few moments. :)

Pretty much the intelligent ones are the ones he's against as long-term allies. Ghasts in particular would be, well, ghastly to adventure with, unless you have no sense of smell. And any intelligent ones have the chance of turning on you if they decide they don't like your goals, or get sick of you ordering them around.

Is there a way to heal undead? Does casting Inflict <something> wounds heal undead? I know it does in later editions, but I don't know if that was a rule in 2e.

An army of Int 1 (Int 0?) dragons... Yeah, that's terrifying. How was system shock determined for them? No constitution score, so no SysShock number. Did they just make a save vs Death Magic?
