With a fairly loud sigh.

"Shall we? Anyone able to paint me a new set of eyes?"

He will rip a blind fold from a piece of stored cloth or blanket.

"I understand, thank you, Katten," says Linar (in elven*). "To use his own power agaisnt him may be possible. Do you still have the shield I polished** for you a few days ago?"

If appropriate, the drow tries buffing the shield with half a dozen of the appropriate type of cantrip [?conjuration?]:
"Where this surface is rough let my fingers smoothly buff."
"Anything that looks like a smudge, this cantrip will cause to budge".
"Made to protect, ye shall also reflect!"
"Let the shield become bright so that 'Basil' it can smite!"
"All reflections will be clear so the creature gets stoned from ear to rear."
"The polishing get just goes faster and faster 'til it loooks like 'twas done by a master."

*Does Bullock speak elven? (If not can we assume that someone translated earlier when Linar responded to him?)
**I vaguely recall we talked about this, but not sure how far we got whilset travelling up to where Linar split away.

(Assuming she still does)

Katten reluctantly hands over the plate, her strong fingers finally releasing the shiny thing to him. "I want it killed, then we rescue my friend. Lots of people are in that cave, the things they had might help us."

After magically polishing the plate as best he's able Linar hands the plate back. He comments with a little irony, "Thank you for trusting me with it. See, no dents."

Taking Nocturno's request deadpan, Linar responds, "Painting isn't my strongest point, artisitically speaking. if you give me some days I could make you a nice sculpture of them. For now though, perhaps a quick sketch*?"

Nocturno rolls out the blindfold, for whoever can make it look like it has eyes on it.

With a few simple lines of briefly applied ink and charcoal Linar attempts to give an impression of eyes, but makes a mess of it.
Without hesitation he refolds the cloth and tries again, this time capturing the proportions pretty well.

Katten turns over the wide bowl to the Drow. It remains highly polished from his efforts before, but a single cantrip removes some smudges it has acquired since. The conave nature distorts his image somewhat as he does so, the way curved surfaces naturally do. It might be useful in looking into to see roughly where something is, but it would be quite difficult to direct it when not looking at the surface (such as turning the creature's gaze back).

Next he works up a quick but servicable sketch of eyes on Nocturno's blindfold

He will tie it to fit around his eyes. Then pull it up onto his forehead.

"Maybe I can fool it into thinking to look at me, while I have my blindfold on."

Still perched upon his branch, Jordek finally enters the conversation. Addressing the large newcomer "It seems we are set on going after a basilisk currently. If you wish the dark one to guide you to this lost dwarven city it appears you'll have to wait until our current situation is concluded. Provided he is still alive to ask. Would you like to join in our current efforts here? Your addition may mean Linar has a better chance to assist you later. If he wishes to that is." With concern in voice he continues "How was Singna when you met? I know how wound up he can get over trolls."
Addressing the feline lady "The magicman in Bordertown implied that the basilisks pertrification powers work on it. He specifically said the remains would be useless if petrified. Personally, I'd advise a tactic that doesn't rely on us getting close enough to have the basilisk petrify us. Not that I know of a good tactic.."

Bullock

Signa was doing well. he was more concerned about seeing two Minotaur's in the same week in his forest. But we had a nice sit and talked about the goblin troubles and all the goings on in the forest. He was a nice fellow and guided me to find your group. I will accompany you on your quest. I have lost the trail of the ones who committed the murder so there is no time limit now. A Basilisk they are a very dangerous foe. All it takes is a look at the wrong time and you are turned to rock. My magic will aid you.

"Remains? Useless?" echoes Linar. "What's that all about, Jordek?"

***

"Well, Bullock, agreed. You help with these other things, basilisk, goblins, shaman and when all that's done I will try to help on your thing. Oh! You do magic as well? Divine? Arcane?"

"He want body, sell it to others. I want to kill, find friend. No use for money if friend is dead." Katten answers in her broken common, "You have magic to protect? Last Bull man rush into fight, he not wise, he stupid. Think he quieter than Katten."

The wild elves Dellinanth and Indendien tie cloths around their foreheads. When we are near, we will shield our eyes. she hefts her spear. We may not do it much injury, without sight, but perhaps we can keep it pinned down long enough to do what needs to be done.

"Magic shopkeep in Bordertown." Jordek says to Linar. "His prices are steep but Nocturno and I found out his prices are negotiable depending on a bit of barter. Inquiring about the basilisk led to the man admitting interest in some pieces if we wished to procure them." Not wanting to provoke Katten, he attempts to explain. "I suggested earlier since we are already going after the basilisk we may as well not waste the carcass of the beast however that would mean it cannot be petrified to kill it. Personally I'd prefer a method of killing it that keeps us all far from danger but admittedly I know not of one." With frustration creeping into his voice he continues. "I don't know much on how these creatures work. My magic is focused on the natural world, these creatures are outside of that. I am unsure of how I can help in this. All I know is we cannot let this threat continue."

Trying to bolster the strange but interesting feline, Linar acknowledges, "On foot few, if any, are quieter than you. I don't know where the other beefy fellow went; he just left."

Accepting the explanation Linar replies, "Jordek, what is to be bought from that man?"

@Tristen - Is the "gauze over the eyes" thing euivalant to "averting one's gaze"? And does NWP Blindfighting help?
