Ouragana walks over to the loom. "I know spells to repair things" she explains to the elf. "Let me see how bad the damage is."

OOC: She will do whatever she can to bring the loom into either working condition or a state where normal repairs can bring it there (for example, mend the major beams so that the loom can be reassembled). If necessary, she'll ask the elf to bring in neighbours to hold the pieces in place while she works the Mending spell(s).

Jocelyn and Baeros (Aboard the Seleya)
"Very well then," Saren says, gesturing to the chair before his desk. "Have a seat." He closes the door to his cabin, leaving Brock and Baeros with Ozap. The gnoll watches them carefully, his arms crossed and his eye twitching slightly.

Looking around, Jocelyn notes that the cabin looks the same as last time she was here. It is a fairly small bedroom/office. There's a bed in the back, simple and plain in design. There's a similarly cheap dresser across from it. A lone porthole serves as a window, looking out to the sea. It lets in light that streams on a desk covered in papers and maps. She also notes a small box on the desk with nothing inside but some chocolate crumbs.

Saren sits behind his desk, and adjusts his glasses which catch the sunlight coming in through the porthole. "Last time you sat here and asked for my help, you completely dismissed what I had to say. I hope you are more receptive this time. What seems to be the problem?"

Ouragana Stormbride (Shantytown)
Ouragana looks over the broken loom. Laying hands upon the device, she casts her spell and the instrument magically repairs itself, not unlike one of Jocelyn's patients while being healed.

"Incredible!" says the elf. "I had not even thought to ask a magic user to repair it. Thank you, this will make it much easier to make clothes for those of us who are now homeless. I wish I had something to give you, other than a bolt of cloth or sewing needles..." His eyes light up suddenly and he snaps his fingers. "Wait, of course!" Digging through his pack, he retrieves a scroll and hands it to her. "A mage traded me this for new robes before the fires. I had completely forgotten about it until now. I'm afraid I have no idea what's on it or if it's even useful, but I imagine whatever it is, it can be put to better use in your hands than my own."

(OOC: Ouragana casts Mending on the loom, repairing it.)

Naras Stonebreaker (Shantytown)
"I'm afraid I don't know the names of the two Leaguers, but my own name is Rumari. Nice to meet you," the old woman says. Listening to her second question, she answers, "Pastor Jocelyn?" She shrugs and shakes her head. "I've never heard of her, but we have no pastors on our crew, only friars."

To answer her third question, Rumari says, "The people of Mond are traditionally Crizzites. They value their freedom and generally dislike being told what to do and when to do it. Thus they distrust Gontorians. Gonto and Crizza have never gotten along, much like Renos and Octhanus, and so their followers do not get along, either. Octhanus and Gonto, however, have no particular friction, in general. Sometimes we can work together, and other times we can find ourselves at odds."

After Naras asks about Saren, the old woman replies, "I believe the captain returned to his cabin for his morning prayers and to go over his itinerary. You might have better luck speaking with his first mate. She's a red haired human woman, loud and brash. Hard to miss her. I believe she's currently coordinating with the other officers in the makeshift marketplace as we speak. If anyone knows what is going on in the city, she does."

"The Leaguers did this..," Naras says, indicating the wrecked town, "to the Crizzites. Oh by Gonto, they bring the same to Narim."
The kohen gives a grim smile, devoid of humour but full of appreciation, "Thank you, Rumari, for the information and the inspiration. You provide hope."
She offers her hand, "If you and yours should come to Narim, you would be welcome in my humble temple. Say that I said this."

The dwarf nods, and adds, "What's the mate's name?" After pausing for the answer, she heads off to look for the makeshift marketplace and and the red-haired mate therein.

Jocelyn looks back at the closed door as she sits down, and lets out a small sigh of relief. This was the first time in awhile that she hadn't felt completely smothered, so she was going to enjoy it. "My plan isn't to dismiss whatever advice you give me. I want to become better," she explains. "I don't remember if I told you why I was out on my little journey or not, but my life is in danger," she says. "Before I became involved with the church, I was a pirate on the Poisoned Curse. I probably would have continued on that path if it wasn't for the fact that the Captain was murdered, and it was blamed on me. I used the church as a way to hide. During the time, I came to like the whole idea of Octhanus, so I went through the process of becoming a priestess. The only problem is that the pirates have found me, and are trying to kill me for the murder of the captain. The original idea was to try to kill them to save my life, but the further I get into the plan, the more I realize that I'm going to lose all favor with Octhanus. Though, I don't know if there is even a way to solve this peacefully."

Ouragna's face lights up with a bright smile as the elf hands her the scroll. "Thank you very much! I will surely be able to make use of it, either for myself or to pass it on to another mage.
Now, do you know of others like you whom I could help by mending their tools or machinery? so you can build up you city again?"
She looks quite happy, finally feeling useful.

Jocelyn Blaine (The Seleya, Captain's Cabin)
"Wait, wait," Saren says, trying to follow. "Pirates, you say? Perhaps you should start at the very beginning."

Saren patiently listens as Jocelyn tells her tale about her traumatic childhood, her falling in with pirates, her escape from them when they accused her of murdering their captain, her hiding in the church, her training under Pastor Sanderson, the assassin's attempt on her life, how she sought out the Bullring for help and acquired an ancient weapon, her encounter with the angel and how she changed Jocelyn's perspective, all up to the present day.

When she is done, he takes a few moments to think. He adjusts his glasses, and they catch the sunlight streaming in from behind him through the porthole. "It's quite a tale. I see now why you were so evasive when we last met." He leans back in his chair. "And you've certainly prepared for a war. You've acquired bodyguards, a ship and crew that are armed to the teeth, and this 'cannon of light' you mentioned. I'm curious, but did you ever hold doubts before meeting with the celestial? What was your reasoning in acquiring all of this muscle and weaponry prior to that?"

Ouragana Stormbride (Shantytown)
"Now that you mention it," the elf says, "you may wish to speak with the fishermen by the docks. I heard they were trying to repair the boats so they can start fishing again. The Octhanians have been providing us with food and water, but we want to start bringing in our own food so they can focus their efforts elsewhere."

(OOC: Ouragana receives a scroll and adds it to her pack.)

Val Urgan (Ocean, 200 yards from shore)
By the time Val reaches the spot where she saw Mist, there is no sign of her or the sahuagin. They have dragged her deep below. Under normal circumstances, Val could not follow or track her down. But she has the tools to do so now. First, she drinks a quarter of her water breathing potion, then seals the bottle back up tight so sea water doesn't seep in and ruin it.

Then she dives down into the deep, cold water. Fortunately, her shark hide armor helps insulate her from the cold a bit. Focusing on her new trident, she attempts to track the orca. Almost at once, she gets an impression of where Mist is and starts to swim in that direction.

Deeper she goes, until she comes across a large coral reef. It seems the sahuagin have tied off their net to the reef to prevent Mist from escaping. There are six of them in total. One is carrying some kind of strange looking crossbow, two more have spears and the last three carry tridents. They seem to be waiting for someone or something and are simply swimming around the whale, guarding it for now. They don't seem to have noticed Val's approach just yet.

(OOC: Val drinks 1/4 of her Water Breathing potion. She can now breathe underwater for about an hour.)

Naras Stonebreaker (Shantytown)
"Her name is Elisa Flores," Rumari replies.

Naras heads to the little makeshift trading post the citizens have set up in the shantytown so they can trade goods with each other. Sure enough, in the center, is a woman with short, fiery red hair surrounded by a number of sailors and marines. She seems to be issuing them orders.

"What's the word from the morning patrol?" she asks. A sailor hands her a scroll of paper. She unfurls it, reads over it, then hands it back. "Alright, I think the last of the zombies are gone now, but patrols should still take a cleric with them anyway to be safe. Tell them to keep an eye out for slaadi still. Damned things are like roaches and keep multiplying. Watch out for survivors, too. Anyone still out there is probably dead by now, but you can never be sure." The sailor runs off after giving a snappy salute.

"What's this I hear about sahuagin sightings? Make sure to keep some marines near the harbor, too. Last thing this place needs is a raid," she says.

Naras approaches the red-haired woman, "Hello, I'm Naras, and you're Elisa, unless I'm very much mistaken. Can we talk?"

Preferably in private, but in public in necessary, Naras asks Elisa, "Would you know of a blue-skinned fellow? An Air Genasai, to be precise. Calls himself 'Son of Crizza'. Wants to make Narin as this." She gestures to the ruins. "I seek to prevent that. Quid pro quo is fine."

"I started holding doubts a little bit before meeting the celestial," Jocelyn admits. "As for my reasoning, I know just how dangerous these pirates are. I don't think reasoning with them is going to work, especially since they all think I killed their captain," she explains. "One of them did it, but it has been so long now that I'm not really sure I can find the evidence that one of them did it."

Baeros growls at Brock, "I was jesting. You don't want the axe then give it to whomever you want." all this time he looks at the closed door. Then he turns his back on both the door and Brock, leaves the ship and looks around for his friends.

"Oh yes, mending the boats is a good idea" Ouragana nods. "I will go and see what I can do."
Almost out of the door, she turns and adds: "It is not surprising that you didn#t think of asking a mage to help you with the loom. Few mages ever think of putting their talents to public use. To be honest, I only thought of that because I've been to a town where a Mage Guild provides the inhabitants with luxuries for a fee. I would have joined them, but they have unreasonable demands on their members. However, nothing prevents me from using their ideas, right?"

Jocelyn Blaine (The Seleya, Captain's Cabin)
"Octhanus teaches us that there is good in everyone," Saren says. "A light worth saving, even if it's only the barest of sparks. Those who commit acts of evil often do so out of fear, pain or simply ignorance. This is why we are not to kill. Taking a life means snuffing out that light, forever. And in doing so, destroying any chance for redemption. Everyone deserves a second chance."

He leans forward, tenting his hands. "I'd agree that proving your innocence would help. It may not convince all of them, but it might shaken their belief enough to get your foot in the door. My first question, though, is what if you cannot prove your innocence? Or if they don't believe you?"

Ouragana Stormbride (Deimos Harbor)
"And the people of Deimos thank you for it," the elf says, giving a polite bow. "May the wind always fill your sails."

Ouragana heads for the harbor and finds a gnomish woman with blonde hair coordinating with a group of people over three beached fishing skiffs. Each skiff is badly damaged. One has a broken keel, one is riddled with holes and the third looks like it has suffered severe fire damage.

Ouragana recognizes the gnomish woman. She is Zarva, the officer of the Seleya she met when the party had dinner with Saren and his crew. She is Saren's chief engineer, if she recalls correctly.

The group with her appear to be craftsmen. They have a variety of tools and lumber and are discussing ways to fix the boats.

Baeros Axewielder (Deimos Harbor)
Ozap growls lightly at Baeros' display of hostility but calms when the ranger storms off, leaving Brock baffled. Baeros descends the boarding ramp and returns to the harbor. He can see Gallath and Drav still near the Bullring's boarding ramp. He sees Ouragana approaching some people on the shoreline, near some broken fishing skiffs. He never saw where Val went, but remembers Naras and Granite heading into the shantytown.

(OOC: He was inside the Seleya when Mist was attacked, so I can't see how he would have seen it himself. Even if he did, there's really nothing he can do, as he can't swim or breathe underwater and his long swords would be useless down there.)

Naras Stonebreaker (Shantytown, Trading Post)
"Well met, Naras," Elisa says. "And you are not mistaken at all. I am Elisa." She offers the dwarf her hand.

Dismissing the rest of her retinue, she gestures for Naras to walk with her as she walks the area to keep an eye on things. She chuckles at Naras' offer. "Quid pro quo, huh? Such a Gontorian thing to say," she teases. "Don't worry, Octhanians don't ask for things in return. Hmm, air genasi, huh? I know there's one among the survivors, but she's an old woman. There might be more, as well. Deimos has, or had, a pretty diverse population. The name 'Son of Crizza' doesn't ring any bells. Odd name. Sounds like an egomaniac. But now that you mention it, I did get a report yesterday of a sighting of a blue skinned man in the city. It was north of here, in the city square. Or what's left of it. Didn't think much of it at the time. But supposedly he was flying around, as if looking for something. My men called out to him, and he just disappeared. I assumed he was a looter."

After shaking Elisa’s hand and listening to the Octhanian, Naras replies, “Elisa, thank you. I am the best Gontorian that I know how to be. Unsure at times, but I do the best I know how. “ The dwarf gives the red haired beauty a measured look, before cracking a genuine smile. “You are the third Octhanian I have encountered. Both you and one of yours, Rumari, a helpful lady, seem comfortable with Gontorians. The third, a Pastor Jocelyn, seems to be uncomfortable at best and outright grumpy in general. It helps to know that that this is probably all my fault rather than just an inter-faith friction thing. And, for the record, I have no huge issue with Crizzites. Only ones that are Leaguers who kill my acolytes and want war for Narin.”

“Talking of Leaguers, would you know names of the necromancer and the conjurer that razed Deimos? I would like to speak to the old lady air genasai. Perhaps she would tell be of this ‘'Son of Crizza', who seemed, as you say, an egomaniac. He could teleport by the way. I suspect he uses Leaguers for his own ends, but I know not why. Perhaps he is just evil. I can detect such evil, but I need to grow greatly in Gonto’s eyes before I can Dispel such. I don’t know wha he was looking for, but that is a great help. If I can find it before him, perhaps war can be prevented in Narin. Would you allow any of your people to shoe me whereabouts he was looking? And I know you do not want payment, but I would feel remiss if I were not able to help in return. I can cure a disease, or perhaps can help patrolling?”

"Well, I'm pretty sure that if I can't prove my innocence, and if they don't believe me that I'm dead," Jocelyn says. "I know that there is at least one on the ship that will probably believe me, but I'm not sure she is going to be willing to stick her neck out for me. She certainly wasn't willing to do so when they dragged me out of my cabin to kill me."

Baeros goes to the shanty town as well, meaning to ask around if they heard if the Leagues attacks had spread in the islands and to what limit.

==============================
(OOC: I wasn't sure about the timelines. I do think there were few things he could do depending on the timelines 1. He could call for help, 2. Even that he couldn't help, he could care and want to help, 3. If Val was still close he could ask how he can support her (tie rope to her to pull her, or dive after her if she pulls it twice) and she might give him some of the potion. But all that doesn't matter.)
