Why does this "alliance or truce" between Artanis and Mira remind me of the "Alliance" between the U.S. & USSR during WW2?

The truce is one based on Mira's tiredness and her his stubbornness, I think its great that we can have these conflicts, its part of what makes them closer to real people, rather than just two-dimensional constructs.
