KARLENE: Narn bids you good night and also turns in, returning to his home for the night.

As you drift into a deep sleep, the image of a beautiful human female came into focus. She was seated by an altar to Wrath (God of Swords + Storms, Lor's brother). She had long flowing blonde hair and ice blue eyes, clad in gleaming silver plated armor she was filing down a magnificent looking greatsword. On the altar was a shield bearing the heraldic device of a two headed lion clutching a sword in each paw.

Then, a hooded man concealed in shadows came forth, bowing to a knee. He said 'Annointed, your will be done'

The female knight said 'a blotch on my pristine reputation has been revealed, it seems. The Lorians have told me of this stain on my record. My house cannot tolerate...scandal, or imperfections even in the slightest. It seems my late father had sired two offspring, abominations really. Mother hid this dirty little secret. What she should have done, had she been in her right head was cast them from the tower ramparts and into the sea of planes upon birth., then cleansed herself properly. It is time to correct nature's mistake, for how could a dhampir truly exist in our world? They are neither living or dead, outcasts from both of their worlds. They'd never be accepted by me or any, and I imagine vampires would gladly destroy such abominations easily for us'.

Hooded man: 'Aye mi'lady, be that as it may consider it my honor to wipe them from all memory. My holy assassin will destroy them cleanly, it is not right that they should be permitted to exist'

{OOC: So no one in the village needed healing then?}

Karlene acknowledges the lucid dream, committing to memory all details including the voices of those within. She searches mentally for any evidence or feeling or who is sending or enabling the dream to reach her.

Does the two head lion hold any meaning for Karlene?

Nobody in the village needed aid, and you were too exhausted anyway to try.

a page from the bible of secrets came to mind, book III verse 25-

"when a Dhampir becomes a willing servant of the all knowing Lor, devoting him or herself to the doctrines of our far seeing clergy that servant will be endowed with special gifts of dreaming, discernment, and predestination. The dhampir itself, without benefit of faith in Lor already has considerable art in prophetic dreams, and some have been said to be able to hear voices and conversation on other continents, and other planes of existence which had driven many of their ilk insane in the past. To the point where they took their own lives'. However, the servants of Lor are able to maintain their sanity and gain special insights into things considered oracular in nature. Making them both profoundly useful, and profoundly dangerous. Further more, some dhampir are able to effect dreams and effect reality through dreams, though this later ability is extremely rare and difficult to acquire, taking years of practice and discipline'

{OOC1: Impressive.}

Karlene thinks, ~So it's me that's doing this and maybe that's what they're afraid of. As Lor WIlls.~
She tries to mine the dream for any more detail, such as locations or identities but not really expecting success.

Whn that dream segment is clearly finished, Karlene wills herself to wake up, jusy to 'clean the line' from the previous dreaming. It's all knowledge and all experience. And both are to be welcomed as a follower of Lor. If successful, but still exhausted she tries to go back to sleep, a dreamless, refreshing sleep, but with the intent of waking up in the small hours to dress and scout out the Cloaker. She is, after all, a Servant of Law as part of being a Servant of Lor.

{OOC2: As the Q-Staff got retrofitted to a mace (Thx btw), can the customization be retrofitted to the mace in lieu of the now non-existent mace? (i.e. some sort of customization of the mace, possibly completely unrelated to anything doen on the Q-staff). Don't actually mind what it does. A better weighting or balance to give an extra +1 to hit would be better than a kick in the shins. But let's see what the Inventor comes up with. :) Thx again!!}

You get no such information (location, other info).

John modified your mace as follows:

When the button is depressed in the handle, the head detaches flies upward and seven separate spikes with chord-twine attached shoot in every direction, up to 25 until they find purchase. This can also be used to form a sort of stopping net between two tree's to say dismount enemy riders, a climbing tool to slow falls, or as a surprise attack.

The mace head can be retracted with a double press of the same button.

There will be gas filled cartridges in the handle that fuels the pressure needed to shoot said mace head, each one is good for 20 uses before requiring a change.

{OOC: @Spike - **TY**}

If Karlane wakes up sufficiently untired in the early hours of the morning she will go out and stealthily try to scout the situation of the Cloaker. She thinks ahead ~Cloaker, a promise is a promise. You hear me?~

forgot to note: when you loose the mace-head, you have up to 25 distance before you can decide/determine with another button press when the spikes fly out (e.g. 10, 15,20, 25 distant)

Okay, np.

So say Karlene fell off of a bridge somewhere. She levels the mace upward and presses a button. This fires the mace-head (with chord attached to handle) straight in the direction you point, up to 25 distance. When you press the button a second time, spikes with separate chords shoot out of the sides of the mace to thud into some solid surface. Think of it as shooting a grenade with shrapnels and you get a visualization.

Karlene: (vs.con 1/2: 17: failure) you're deep asleep.
Idrys collapses from exhaustion (vs. con 1/2: 18 failure) he's sleeping on a cot.
John goes to sleep. Ash casts a spell, causing a vaporous dragonic shaped mist to appear next to the door. He also places a tripwire over the window that will ring another string of little bells in case someone snags it.

DREAM #2: While asleep, both of you appear in the same dream. You're both in your child-bodies, around 10 years old give or take, you can't be entirely certain.

The room you are in appears as a plane of existence not your own, it is filled with mirrors and doors, but mostly mirrors. There are bridges everywhere, stairs, walkways that stretch endlessly. There are also stairs which are upside down as well as doors and mirrors.

The two of you hear your names being called from a familiar womans voice, out of a mirror high above you. You leap up and land in front of it. Within is a white cloud and then...you see a woman inside. She is remarkably beautiful, comparable to an Elf in fairness, with long curly blue black hair and enviable lustrous amber eyes. Karlene resembles this woman very much physically.

The woman is sitting in her boudoir when a servant came, a fighter clad in fanciful platemail, 'mi'lady, it is time. Are you absolutely certain this is the way?"

The woman smiled a mirthless expression, saying 'aye, it is. I do not wish to die and perish an old withered thing. My husband is no more, so it would seem. How can I avenge his name, his honor and pride if I'm to die of this foul rot? I've scant options, my champion. You have served me well, better than I deserve. I've left you a considerable fortune which will keep your family fed and housed for longer than you can stand to live in this paltry banal reality. If you wish, once I've been born to darkness I can bring you with me. We can spend an eternity together! Before I go, make certain you take care of all the arrangements for the twins. And make absolutely certain none of my other children gain word of their existence. Otherwise all of them may end up trying to destroy one another for their inheritance'

[Does Idrys recognize anyone in the dream? Bortaan perhaps?]

(VS. INT: 1 succeeded) the 'champion' guard looks to be a younger version of Bortaan.

Moments later, the scene in the mirror changes.

The woman from before is strolling down a hallway, where a being is suspended by chains dangling from the ceiling. The being said as the beautiful lady approached 'I know my dear, I am difficult to look at. But I assure you my blood is far more powerful than you could pray for. Do not forget your end of the bargain' the being was suspended over a large pile of wood, a log-cabin arrangement of firewood neatly and purposefully arranged. 'Scatter my ashes to the four winds. Even a faint trace of me I may return, and in what form I dare not contemplate'

The woman simply nodded, grabbing the hanging man's wrist and slashing it with a dagger she drank from it. The figure said 'yes, drink...life everlasting...you will love me when you are reborn, but you must keep your end of the bargain. If you do not I will feed you to the wolves of hell!'

The scene fades...

[If able to communicate in the dream]

Idrys leans over to Karlene, The champion... he is Bortaan, the man who raised me... that must be our mother... Idrys watches them both with fascination, taking in every detail. He died of the wasting sickness as well... I wonder if there is a connection...

The scene of your mother faded.

It was soon replaced by another entirely different scene...

Both of you see Alzor Dam, seated on a chair and in the company of several black clad soldiers. His raven was perched on his shoulder and he spoke:

"Soon, these little pawns I've assembled will have found that elusive bastard by now, all is coming together as I'd foreseen. Once I've gotten those damnable files, we'll finally have the secrets Draxcon has been hiding all these years...and the gem, will restore house Telemvor far above House Succundus once and for all. Alas, the game is finally afoot!' he slammed a dagger hard into the table he was seated. 'Send an attache of your elite, commander and assemble a flock of your finest assassins, do not loose our prey."
