Looking at Kendra's wound, "that thing had a big throwing arm.."
"That abyss portal was pretty good Haaqae! You should keep a couple more of them around. I bet they would fetch a good price at market too-if you fancy yourself as an entrepreneur.
If you found money on them we should check their barracks, maybe more gemstones under the beds."
Gregeddin gets out and lights a torch to help him see.
"also if we need to spread out carrying, my pack gets lighter with each torch. "

"Remove your armor," Coroccoco tells Kendra, pulling some bandages out of her pack. "I will do what I can."
===========
Coroccoco makes a Healing check [12] on Kendra (
1d20): 10, fail. No HP is restored.

Kendra removes her armor so that Coco can bandage her up. "I'm getting pretty beat up here," she says to the others as Coroccoco does her work. "As are all of us. We should be at our best if we are going to defeat this Seleka or whatever her name was."

Considering what they had already encountered in Bear's mine, Gregeddin mused "I wonder how much more there could be... a surplus of scaly serpentine surprises..."
Then looking at the dark blotches adorning everyone's clothing, he confessed "I'd rather not die down here"
How blood looked as black as these walls in the murky light.

"Still, that could have gone far worse than it did," Kynaston mentions. "Let's keep moving."
The party returns to the room where they first found the sligs, which is now unoccupied. However, a quick search reveals nothing of importance. The sligs must keep their treasure somewhere else.
=========
(OOC: By the way, Haahque, did Haahqae take any of the items he found on the dead sligs? If so, which ones?)

"Hmm. Perhaps there is an overflowing treasure room somewhere else... Or... If they keep it hidden in that toilet chamber, fair dues to the one who finds it.
South then?"

Kendra puts back on her armor once Coco is done. "Lead the way," she says to the gnome.

"Right, this way to glory and victory!" Haahqae replies, and marches forward, head held high and chest in the air. He takes a few paces, then pauses,
"Oh right, check for traps." Haahqae pulls out the bag of dried fruit he found on the sligs and takes a bite, offering the bag to his companions. He then proceeds down the hallway.
(Haahqae will empty the coin purses into his own, and take the bag of fruit.

The party continues south, with Darga and Haahqae searching for any further traps along the way. As it so happens, just south of the slig barracks, Darga finds another hidden pit trap. Again, it should be easy enough for the party to slide around it, if they are careful.
===============
Haahqae adds 14 platinum pieces and 13 steel pieces to his inventory, as well as 1 meal worth of dried fruit.
Haahqae searches for traps [15] (1d100): 50, fail. He finds no traps.

"There could be more of them," Kendra says softly since there is another trap. "You two continue on ahead and tell us what you see before we cross. I don't want our light giving us away. "

Darga nods at Kendra's suggestion and edges around the trapdoor. Careful to remain quiet and unseen, he creeps ahead into the darkness to see what lies ahead.

The party slowly continues forward, but no further traps are found for awhile. After following a long tunnel eastward, they finally reach another chamber.
This chamber, which has entrances to the west, east and north, contains a lift in the center--a complicated piece of machinery that was once used to quickly transport ore from the second level to the first. It now lies broken.
A single slig patrols the chamber, listlessly wandering around in boredom.

"You go left, I'll go right, and let's hit it so hard it won't know what killed it." Haahqae suggests, and looks for hiding spots amongst the machinery to the right.

"If they're being sneaky we had best be ready to come charging in to help out" Gregeddin says to the others as he draws his broad sword.
"When we hear combat, that can be our signal to go for it, wouldn't want the light of our torch and lantern giving the game up."

Kendra nods in agreement with Gregeddin.
