Alright, just to recap: Ismene, go ahead and take Pen. Felran and Ne Chanz, get a dose of the invisibility potion from Haahque. Close with the priest and try to attack together. Do your best to take him down as fast as you can so he doesn't cry out. Maybe Ne-Chanz could restrain him and cover his mouth... We'll stand ready, and then form-up by the wall as soon as you do become visible. Haahque, stay behind us with yhe rest of the archers please. Let's do this.

Haahqae, Arulia, Gobax, Felran and Ne-Chanz (Deserted Building)
Ismene begins casting and touches Pen on the shoulder. The kender fades away from view, but his disembodied voice says, "Hey, nothing happened!"

"You can still see yourself, but nobody else can see you," Ismene explains. She pulls up the hood of her robe and vanishes, as well.

Kendra Greylock (Haven's Vale)
With annoyance, Krup gestures for the others to join him. "It's all clear," he says. "Nobody's here. But we should check out the area for clues."

Tulbas Erogund (Cultist Lair, Barracks)
Tulbas drags the candelabra over to the chest and tries to use the base to force open the lock on the chest. Hox wax from the lit candles drip on him, causing him further pain and leaving red marks on his delicate, elven skin.

Fortunately, the chest was not trapped...or Tulbas would be dead now. He manages to force open the chest, revealing his belongings packed inside.

"It's true," Haahqae adds, "You're gone." And he reaches into his own pack to draw forth the invisibility potion. "Now remember, it only takes a small amount to turn you invisible, and it's rather hard to come by the potions so I'd much predicate it if you don't take more then you need."

Kendra decides to circle around the area to keep her eyes open for any clues that might lead to the elves.

Haahqae, Arulia, Gobax, Felran and Ne-Chanz (Deserted Building)
Ne-Chanz and Felran each take a gulp of Haahqae's potion, and vanish, as well.

"When did you get that anyway?" asks Gregeddin regarding the potion. "Did Magnus sell it to you?"

The four invisible folk leave the storage room and begin to creep toward the dining area. Pen's jingling chain mail and Ne-Chanz's heavy footsteps make this apparent.

Kendra Greylock (Haven's Vale)
Before Kendra can take more than a few steps, three elves that had been hiding in the brush suddenly begin firing arrows at the party. One arrows flies right by Kendra's ear, just narrowly missing her head.

"It's a trap! Take cover!" shouts Krup, throwing up his shield in time to block an arrow. Kendra doesn't recognize any of the elves--Sadron and the two women she met earlier are not among them.

Elf 01 fires a sheaf arrow from his short bow at Krup with elven grace (+1 hit) [TN 16] (1d20+1): 13+1 = 14, miss.
Elf 02 fires a sheaf arrow from her short bow at Tern with elven grace (+1 hit) [TN 15] (1d20+1): 3+1 = 4, miss.
Elf 03 fires a sheaf arrow from his short bow at Kendra with elven grace (+1 hit) against her studded leather (-1 hit) [TN 15] (1d20): 14, bare miss.

"I think I picked it up in the mine? Or it might have been from the giant's lair? Might have been before that. What's important is that I have it and it's running out quickly."

Grubnick stands ready, motioning for the others to do the same. Hopefully the Histachii wouldn't act on their own, and the priest wouldn't hear over din of everyone dining...

Kendra makes a dash for the brush near the tent on the left as she pulls out her bow. If she was close enough to the elf on that side, she was thinking she could get a few pot shots on the draconians without them really noticing.

Haahqae, Arulia, Gobax, Felran and Ne-Chanz (Deserted Building)
"Is that so?" asks Gregeddin raising a brow and crossing his arms. "Funny how you never mentioned it at the time. I wonder what other little baubles you might have picked up and forgotten to disclose from the mines and the giant's lair now," the bard says with slight amusement.

They wait quietly for the invisible group to make their way to the priest. But something goes wrong. Just as they are entering the dining area, they hear Pen give a small yelp as he stumbles on some kind of invisible tripwire. The snake statue on the far end of the room suddenly spits out a mass of glittering particles that cling to the group, revealing their presence! This is noticed by the entire room at once. The priest quickly raises and points to the now visible party members. "Intruders! Kill them all!"

Kendra Greylock (Haven's Vale)
Everyone leaps for cover in the brush before the elves have a chance to fire again. Krup, Tern and Grev stay together, as do Perp and Slinn. Kendra is the only one to run off on her own. Tern throws a dagger at one of the elves as he leaps to safety, catching her in the shoulder. She cries out in pain. "Bullseye!" the Baaz brags.

Kendra is almost hit again, but it misses her by inches. Another arrow is way off the mark. Only Krup is hit by onslaught, who gets hit in the gut. He curses and starts fumbling about in his pack. "Attack pattern delta!" he calls out. Unfortunately, Kendra hasn't been in the group long enough to know what that means.

[ooc: sonova... Actions, curse self silently]

Hearing the priest cry out, Grubnick waves them forward and suits his own actions. When he sees the blinded party members, he changes his plans somewhat. Gregeddin, Arulia, pull the blinded ones back and form up the front. Ismene, do what you can, I'll try to get the priest. Ranged attacks from everyone.

So much for hiding my nature... I wish there was an easier way... Grubnick tries to keep himself in the back, but preventing a full alert of the complex is more important. Hold Person on the priest.

[OOC: hope he has some crap rolls for his saves and MR...]

Arulia waits behind the half wall impatiently as she listens for the sounds of combat--her cue to take her place in the shield wall and reveal herself. But then, the shouted orders of the priest tell her that something's gone wrong. With a muttered prayer under her breath, she jumps out to defend her companions. Gobax's orders seem as good a course of action as any, so she rushes out into the dining hall. Seeing Pen stumbling blindly, she runs to him to pull him to safety.

(OOC: Arulia's going to pull Pen to safety. If she's attacked while doing so, she'll attack in kind in self-defense.)

As soon as Tulbas manages to open the chest he is relieved. He is even doubly so when he understand he could have triggered a trap. His thoughts must have been clouded by pain and desperation.
He makes sure all his belonging are there and take a moment to consider his next move.

"Boggart. Guys get back here so we can regroup."

Haahqae stands, his bow ready for the first thing with scales to come through the door.

(Move one square left, ready an action to shoot the first histachii or snake priest to come into view.)

Haahqae, Arulia, Gobax, Felran and Ne-Chanz (Deserted Building)
"He's right," Gregeddin calls out in response to Haahqae. "Everyone fall back, we can bottle-neck them in the door way!" He draws his bow and gets ready. Yvette and Xyleena also take positions and ready their crossbows.

The snake priest does nothing, simply watching how things will play out from his vantage point above.

Two histachii move in on Pen first, clawing and biting at the kender, leaving him fairly bloodied. A third one does the same for Ismene, easily slicing into her flesh as she wears no armor. Pen swings his sword wildly to fend off his foe. Ismene, unable to turn invisible with all of the glitter on her, begins to withdraw back to the door, limping badly. Arulia comes up behind Pen and grabs at him, which causes the kender to nearly lop off her head. Only when he realizes she is friend and not foe, does he let her lead him back to the door.

The remainder of the histachii move in, clawing and biting at Felran and Ne-Chanz who stay behind--either to cover the retreat or because they didn't hear/don't care what Gobax said. Felran manages to cut deeply into one histachii with his great sword, but Ne-Chanz just swings blindly and hits nothing but air.

Gobax moves to cast his spell, but he cannot see the priest without getting uncomfortably close to the front line. Surrounded by angry histachii, he casts the spell and directs it to the priest, who freezes into place.

Haahqae readies his bow, but no histachii show themselves. He does see Ismene, her clothing ripped and bloodied, limping toward the door, however. Arulia and Pen are heading that way, as well.

Tulbas Erogund (Cultist Lair, Barracks)
Tulbas sorts through the contents of the chest, and confirms that everything is there.

(OOC: Well, Tulbas has three 1st level spell slots open right now. It takes 10 minutes for each spell level to memorize new spells, so it would take 30 minutes to fill them all.)

Deciding to change tactics a bit, Kendra pulls out her swords and moves around the brush to try to get elf 1. She decides to try to use non-lethal attacks on the elf, and speaking to him. "Where is Sadron and his group?" she asks so that only that elf can hear.
