"Thank you" Ouragna says to Saren and retires. She plugs her ears with the ends of her shawl so the noises won't disturb her.

"I think the rest of us should try to get some rest," Jocelyn says to her group.

Seeing Andar's packs Baeros collects them too and returns to the ship. Hearing everyone speak of staying to rest it is obvious he struggles inwardly. "There are still wounded people out there, and we don't know how many Slaadi are walking the streets right now. They could summon all their friends and be an army by now. Isn't there anything we can do?" He looks at Saren.

Val thumps her trident butt first on the deck. "I am ready to go." is all she says

Ouragana descends into the crew quarters and easily finds a bunk where she can rest. The place is almost entirely unoccupied, as most of the crew is not present.

Saren looks between Baeros and Val, both who are seriously wounded, and Jocelyn who is in even worse shape. Brock and Takit, as well, are seriously wounded. "Obviously, you are not my crew and so I have no right to tell you to stay," he says. "But the four of you, in your current condition, likely wouldn't last long out there. There are limits to what a person can do, and it's important to recognize what those limits are. The truth is, the city has fallen. Even if we could eliminate all of the undead and the Slaadi, the citizens are still fighting each other. My crew is still out there, helping what wounded they can find, but even we cannot save this place." He looks out at the burning city. "It is your choice. If you do depart, we will remain docked here for as long as we can."

Baeros picks up Andar's pack and is now in heavy encumbrance.

"So, you want us to simply wait for the return of the others, then depart?" Val asks?

"I believe that would be the wisest course of action," Saren replies. "If you'll all excuse me, I should go and tend to the patients in the hold." With that, he descends the stairs.

Brock hobbles over to the plank to keep an eye out, in case any one else, hostile or otherwise, approaches.

"Alright, I will stand watch." Val says. She shoulders her trident, favoring the bow. She moves to toward th bow of the ship, watching the pier for the undead minions.

Jocelyn walks over to Brock, and places her hand upon his shoulder quietly to use her lay on hands ability on him. "That should help a little bit more," she says softly. "Thanks for the help."

Brock's injuries heal considerably, leaving only the slightest marks behind. He sighs in relief, then turns toward her. "Thanks, lass. If only my old leg could be healed like that." He shakes his head. "I came here to help, but I think I mostly just got in the way instead."

Jocelyn uses Lay on Hands on Brock, restoring 10 HP. His condition improves from seriously wounded to lightly wounded.

Baeros gives Andar's backpack to Jocelyn to put it near Andar, then he stands near Val looking to the city intensely as if trying to pierce the heavy clouds of smoke, "You are brave Val, but you are heavily wounded. If some survivors will reach the pier I'll run for their help and you should cover me with your bow." Then he calls one of the nearby sailors and say, "If I'll have to go to melee combat, I'll leave my bow and arrows here, near Val, so you could help with range attacks. Understand?"

"You did good, Brock," Jocelyn says, trying to assure him. She absently picks up Andar's pack as it was left beside her, and pulls out her waterskin. "You know, you are welcome to join my little group if you want. I can fill you in on the details later as to what we are actually doing here."

The sailor accepts Baeros' bow and quiver with a nod.
Jocelyn wrote:"You know, you are welcome to join my little group if you want. I can fill you in on the details later as to what we are actually doing here."
"Eh? An old dwarf like me? Aye, I'll think on it, once I have the details," Brock says. "But I might just get in the way more than help."

Baeros leaves Andar's backpack near Jocelyn. His encumbrance drops from heavy to light.
Jocelyn retrieves her waterskin. She is now in light encumbrance.

"Let me check on Andar and Arelion, and then I'll fill you in on the details," Jocelyn says. She picks up Andar's pack, knowing that it will be heavy, to take it down to him.

Jocelyn, Ouragana, Val and Baeros (The Seleya)
Jocelyn takes Andar's pack to him (it still contains Jocelyn's bedroll and Val's waterskins and battle axe, incidentally), and checks up on them. Both he and Areilon are fast asleep, the acolyte cleric watching over them. She then returns to the upper deck to speak with Brock on their journey.

Val and Baeros keep an eye out for returning survivors. One by one, each group returns. Most carry wounded with them, which are placed in the hold with the others. On two separate occasions, additional zombies approach the ship. But they are easily disintegrated by Saren before they even reach the plank.

Once there are more than enough crewmen and officers back on board to relieve Val and Baeros, they are finally allowed to get some rest, as do Jocelyn and Brock.

When morning comes, the city is eerily quiet. There are no longer any sounds of fighting and most of the fires have either been put out or burned themselves out. Looking out at the city, one feels as if they are seeing a graveyard instead of a lively and bustling town.

Saren invites the party, sans Areilon and Andar who remain in the hold recovering, to breakfast on the upper deck. The food consists of hardtack and some salted ham, an orange, and water. "We've done all we can for the wounded," Saren explains as they eat. "Some wish to return to their homes and try to rebuild, while others have opted to come with us to Sanctuary for further treatment. Your two friends, the elven woman and the large human, are still in bad shape. I still cannot remove the egg-pellets without risking them further harm. I think it would be best to take them with us to Sanctuary, as well. With a month or two of extensive therapy, they should be back on their feet again."

"Captain!" a crewman interrupts, looking to the south, toward the sea. "Ship's approaching. A big one. Looks like a galleon."

Gallath (The Bullring)
Meanwhile, on the Bullring, it is now morning and land is in sight. Gallath slept as restfully as he could after such a hellish night. The crew had done their best to get the sails working again, and although they were later than they had intended, the Bullring was now about to reach the island of Mond.

"Odd," Sierra says, looking through a spyglass. "I see smoke coming from several parts in the city. And there's only one ship in the docks. Looks like a caravel."

"Was the city attacked?" asks Terra. "That strange dragon did come from the north. Perhaps this is where it came from," she speculates.

"It's possible." Sierra puts the spyglass down. "Damn, I hope that doesn't mean the markets are closed. We'll pull up next to the caravel. Maybe they know something."
