"This could be a wasted trip," Imani points out. "They might decide not to take them in for whatever reason. I'm still unsure about saving the kender. Why are we just focusing on just the kender anyway? Didn't Jerrard said that there were children there as young as twelve?" she asks. "Why are we not trying to save them?"

Babushka hangs her head. "You are right, Imani. This only makes things harder. So many people that are suffering, so little we can do" Her voice grows thick towards the end, she swallows hard, blinking back tears.

"Are they suffering?" Imani asks curiously. "You have to remember that this is a very different culture than what you are use to," she explains. "Very few of us actually question if we are happy or not."

Babushka looks up at Imani, surprised. "Why do you speak of saving them, then, if you think they are doing well?"

"The Kender were mis-treated, chained up, confined to a single room, abused by whoever pays." Jerrard responds, "As for the Children, do not get me started, that fills me with dread, I saw them last night, all of them." Jerrard shudders, listening to everything that is said.

"Ok, Imani what would you do? Say you had to make this choice, and in a way you do, we all do." he asks quietly, waiting for her response.

"No one listens to me." Locky suddenly looks little and rather lost, "I will do what you want."

"I would help Malika," Imani says. "We have to take into consideration that a trip up to the capital and back will waste our supplies. While the chances of the Daughters taking the kender are high, there is a small chance they won't take them. Plus, the longer we are here, the higher the chance the Khan will find us even if we are hiding in another Khan's territory."

"So you would just leave the Kender? I made a promise, I said i would come back for them." Jerrard responds after a long period of silence, he reaches for the pipe. "Would anyone mind if I smoke? I am feeling a little, well, stressed."

"what if we bought the Kender freedom, and a place on a waggon back home? Perhaps a note for the chamber of light?"

"Chamber of light?" Imani asks curiously.

"A temple we visited, dedicated to the gods of light, they would be cared for there." he replies, "then we wouldn't need to care for them, but they would be free."

"Then that is not in Khur," Imani says. "We haven't even decided how we are going to leave Khur," she points out. "If we go through the mountains, we are putting these helpless kender in danger. If we decide to go by boat, we are still putting these helpless kender in danger by going through the desert."

"I believe you have misunderstood me Imani. I believe there are probably caravans heading to Shrentak all the time. We put the Kender on of those." Jerrard replies, about to say more before Locky cuts him off.

"We could send them to Gillian Forgesmoke!" Locky cuts off Jerrard Perking up, "She is the High Priestess of the Temple of Light, in Shrentak, I am sure she would take them in!" Locky lifts her head, she had an idea, it might work. "We could write her a letter? I did donate her lots of money."

Imani lets out a small sigh. She still didn't think it was a great idea to save the kender, but they seemed dead set on doing it. "Very well. Your caravan idea seems to be the best idea even though I have no idea where to find one."

"Guess we need to go and get the kender first, right?" Ulster points out.
