Actually I had a kender cleric in a game on here, and the dragonlance rules say that all kender have some thief skill's..

I'll dig out those rules in the morning. :D

Yep. all kender get base 5% to each thief skill (except 0% for read lang and 40% for climb walls). This is noted in Gnomes and Halflings.

If you choose a rogue class (or Multi-class) kender you get the base thief skills and use the racial adjustments as if he were a regular Halfling from the PHB with regards to thieving skills...

And dex bonus, in the old old Dragonlance box-set the un-classed thief skills were ridiculously high... of course, Kender had different stat adjustments way back then also...

They changed it for the Dragonlance Adventures hardcover; which I believe are the pnes used in Gnomes and Halflings

I was referring to the 2nd Ed tales of the lance boxed set.

I was as well, although I guess I made it sound older than I should have.

In the 2e Tales of the Lance box set they only get +1 dex and roll 2d6+4 for str.
Their un-classed base thief skills are around 25%...which is substantial.

The stats from the Dragonlance Adventures hardback match those on Gnomes and Halflings, though.

Ahhh, I got confused as the DL Adventures is a 1e book. :D

I do miss my Kender Cleric!

Yeah it worked out perfectly. Stripped strength and con by one point each to bump intelligence to 16 and wisdom to 15 so I can play a specialized wizard (Abjurer). Does the 4 spell limit include the bonus specialized wizards get?

At lvl 1 you would get the chance to learn 4, +1 Abjuration spell (you still roll for it but get +15% b/c it's your specialty). Failed chances mean the slot is 'open' again for a different spell.

Choose your spells as if you were doing them at the time you leveled up. By this I mean if you fail to learn the one you want when as a starter spell, you could try again when you hit lvl 2, then again at 3 if it was failed again. Let me know if this is too confusing.

Also, when you hit lvl 3 you get a freebie you don't have to roll to learn. As a specialist, either:
-make a list of any 3-9 non-prohibited spells you're interested in, and I'll roll to see which one you 'suddenly understand'
-choose one Abjuration spell of the newly accessed spell level (I.e. 2nd apell level at char lvl 3)

Need 70% or less to learn
1d100=82, 1d100+15=82, 1d100=20, 1d100=9, 1d100+15=88, 1d3=1
Oops, the +15 should be -15 (to improve your chances) so the scores are
Mag missle (82) failed
Prot from Evil (67-15 for abj school=52) learned
Sleep (20) learned
Shield (9) learned
Alarm (73-15 for abj school=58) learned (only b/c it was in your school :))

Freebie roll 1d3 (1): ESP learned

Since you 'failed' to learn mag missle at 1st level, pick a different 1st lvl spell to attempt. You can re-try to learn mag missle for lvl 2, and lvl 3 (should you fail again) .

I'll wait until you name your replacement 1st lvl spell to roll the re-attempt for mag mssl.

Chill touch? Excellent. Alright, new roll first.
1d100=82
failed.

Now you must try a different one.
To keep this from being (potentially) a lot of back and forth, you can roll these in invisible castle yourself until one passes. Then, choose one (and only one) of the failed ones to re-roll.

don't forget to enter your char name in the form on IC when you do

In case you thought I put the info in the wrong place, Mira's info is a work in progress, when I'm done I'll put it in the right place. Do you want the sheet as a word doc?

So Sorbo has his spells figured out. Yay! Do I just need to roll for health? And starting wealth as well? And any recommendations on pertinent languages for him to take. Got 5 of them might as well make the most of them XD
