His sobbing subsides and Bjarg sniffles away the mucus dripping from his nostrils. From the cover of his shield, he looks about examining the room he's in while avoiding the sounds of battle.

Sim pears around the corner to see what is happening and notes the two dead monsters on the floor. The third surouded by a globe of inky darkness. Clarity dawns on Sim and he charges into the room, running at the dark mass and shouting "Fear not the dark nor be ye blinded by night. The truth shall cast away the shadow of doubt. I am the bringer of dawn, bearer of the light. BACK TO THE HELLS FROM WHENCE YE CAME!" He plunges into the swirling blackness and once enveloped casts continual light upon his upraised staff.

Ag, now knowing that he struck the beast and knocked it back (/ooc I assume he could feel it withdraw from his sword a bit /ooc) will now advance and attack with great confidence, again raising his sword and bringing it in a downwards motion. With this he will also again let out his fierce battle cry.

Beillion moves up to inspect the others for wounds as he positions to enter combat, next turn. "Thoughts, anyone?" He asks cheerfully as he waits to see what effect the magic light has on the darkness.

*The continual light spell negates the darkness spell, and the Rutterkin is once again visable to all. However, after having his eyes adjust to darkness, Ag is now blinded by the torchlight of the snake room, and he misses his strike upon the creature; his sword loudly clanging on the floor, stone chips flying outward.*
*The Rutterkin continues moving away from the group, heading for the stairway to the L shaped room, and near Sim, who is unarmed.*
(OOC to IL - the fear is reduced by another 25%)

Martin carefully keeps himself out of sword range of the creature, and calls out: "Hey! Ugly! Where are you going? My friends would like a word with you."

Sim grins sheepishly and begins backing away once the darkness is dispelled. As he does so he unslings his pack and reaches in for one of the potions. The potion of shrinking.

Rising to his feet, Bjarg grips his shield and club with a simmering rage that is slowly replacing his unreasonable fear. His teeth grind together as his face contorts into a death's head glare. "DEEEEEEEEEEEMOOOOOOOOOOOON!" He bellows. His slowly starts to lope toward the open door, fury glowing in his eyes.

Esse raises her sword above her head, smiling again as the Rutterkin becomes visible.
"Hello again Ugly, looks like you'll be dying quite soon."
Noting Bjarg rise to his feet, she cheers up a little more.
She nods at Martin and charges the creature, attacking when she gets within range. She keeps out of the creatures range of touch, easily dancing around the creature.

*Bjarg's fear has turned to rage as he enters into the snake room, just in time to see Esse finish off the last of the Rutterkin.*
(OOC - I believe the sword it took from Beillion was the one with the ruby in its hilt)
*Finally free, for the moment, from attack, the group now must consider going back into the room where the Rutterkin resided, for there are two enticing doors; or they may have had enough of that area, and redecide to try the northern door in the snake room. Taking time for everyone to heal, the group ponders their decision.*

[ooc] yes that was the sword esse dropped and Bellion took it, she'll take it back when the Rutterkin falls[/ooc]
Esse takes the sword from the fallen Rutterkin, sliding it into her belt, she then walks into the room they left and checks on Bjarg.
"Are you ok, big man?" She smiles from across the room, seeing his face in a rage.

Seeing his foe fall, Bjargs sights become set on the next closest target: the elf standing before him. He slows his stride and walks with powerful, willful steps toward his adversary. As he nears, his unblinking, bloodshot eyes lock onto those of the elf. Though she speaks to him, the words mean nothing in light of his rage. He snorts as an infuriated bull and raises his club.....

Sim manages to wrestle the potion out of the bag, taking his eyes off the creature before him for but a moment and in that moment the creature falls. Sim is visibly relieved, shrugs and slips the potion into his belt for easy access later. He spies the strange behavior of the Barbarian and calls out. "Jarg!, Barg ol boy! I say, Benny? Can I call you Benny? Benny, take it easy now, battle's over! Just lower that tree branch there boy an' take a deep breath. There could be gold in them skins now. You wouldn't want to be put in the corner while the rest of us play would ya?

Ag will now go recover the two peridots that were dropped by the snake when it was killed.
To the group in general "Hello all, my name is Ayagnox. I was sent to this accursed place to find the fate of a man named Rayken, my employers cousin. If it is all right then I would like to explore the remainder of this place with your group, but if you don't think the value of my sword is worthy of your company, then I will continue on my own."
