I think Haahque was just joking there, not speaking in character.

Anyway, I'd say the Takhisians hate elves as much as the army does. Maybe more. But Tulbas could still get in good with them. He'd have to go full dark elf and really prove himself to them, but it could be done.

Also, Tulbas has an INT of 19 and he has gone over the material before, so he could conceivably reconstruct some of it by memory. It's better than starting from scratch. The main problem is, of course, the ethics involved. Never mind if he intends to use it to hurt people or help people. He'd have to experiment on live subjects to perfect the formulas involved, so there's that to consider. (This why the cultists had way more histachii than yuanti. The histachii are mostly rejects who failed to become yuanti because they hadn't perfected the formula yet.)

Anyway, for the subject of what to do next, it seems that we have one vote to go home, rest and level up first (Arulia) and two votes to chase after the thieves first (Haahqae and Tulbas) and zero votes to fight Belzor first. So that leaves the votes of Gobax, Felran, Ne-Chanz and the three NPCs (Ismene, Pen and Gregeddin).

I'm for going after the girls.

Was the above statement OOC? You colored it like the character speaking but posted it in the OOC thread, so... was that directed at the characters or players?

Gobax/Grubnick sees these as the instructions for turning people into mindless slave-lizards for the evil cult. He is a priest of Sirrion, god of Freedom and Creativity, that uses a righteous flame of renewal so... It seems pretty straightforward to me what his diety would expect him to do. He might be convinced it could have some use in potentially reversing or guarding against the effects, but that's definitely not going to be his initial reaction.
I did that very deliberately. I was speaking "in character" as in that's what Haahqae would say if he saw the OOC thread. But I was speaking out of character in that he didn't actually say it.

Out of character: I'm ok with destroying the books. While we probably would get more advantage by donating them to the conclave, it might be hard to actually do that and there's a fair chance that they'll just end up forgotten in my inventory and encumbering me.

That's what I figured, but I wanted to be sure. The ambiguity of text and all that ;)

Ne-Chanz wants whatever will let him kill things.

Well the most immediate choice that lets him kill things would be attack Belzor, but since we've pretty much ruled that out of the options, second choice for kill-instincts would be chasing after the girls.

Okay, chasing it is.

To answer BishGada's question, yes, you are in the Harbor District.

So now we're just waiting on chese's input before proceeding.

So...chese's post wasn't entirely clear to me. Is Felran voting to go after Belzor, go after Xyleena and Yvette or to call it a night?

A vote not to stay in the building. Remember, he's kind-of being drug around by Ne-Chanz and Grubnick (?)

He's saying that he does not want to stay there, which rules out Belzor.

Okay, so does he want to call it a night or go after Yvette and Xyleena then?

Personally, I'll go with chasing because I have no idea what went down.

Looks like a clear majority then. I'll advance things forward then.

If we need someone to stay behind Haahqae can do it. No guarantees on not doing something incredibly stupid though.

He doesn't need to do anything stupid. He has 1 HP and no spells. All Belzor has to do is decide to attack and he's a goner.
