I... I think he is.. he just left earlier, I just assumed that's where he went... Elsa pats the bard comfortingly, Don't worry, I'm sure he's ok. she says, not meaning the ranger. C'mon Pyros, let's go find Cross and Cal... we'll all talk about what to do first, should we all meet back here?

[Jenara]

"I hope so, I really do." Without pausing she pads along lightly, her bare feet making little noises on the floor as she approaches Artanis's door. "Hello, Artanis?" She calls softly. "Hello?" Her voice raises slightly.

[Jenara]

Mira slips herself inside the covers and closes her eyes.

A few minutes later Elsa comes and tucks her in, smuggling up beside her in the cold evening air.

Mira makes a little noise, snuggling close to Elsa she allows her body to relax.

(Yep, it's funny how me and Mira felt exactly the same last night)

The girls break into the chilly air, walking briskly down the windy street where the few early hawkers at this hour shelter in the lee of the buildings along the loop. The pair rapidly make their way to the first turn, taking the road that leads to five-points rather than the awkward dead-end they encountered the day before. Finally they move northward down the street where the old leatherworker lives, approaching the Jail from the south… The large double door to the constabulary stands slightly ajar, and nobody is in sight on the street… in fact, it strikes her as passing odd that they had not encountered anyone since leaving The Loop… Elsa gives the bard a look of concern and eases her mace at her belt…

[Jenara]

"I don't like this. Could that.. No. No." She gasps a little, taking Elsa's hand and drawing the new sword. "Stay with me.. we might just be early. But.. " stepping inside she pushes the door gently, hoping the best but fearing the worst.

Pyros will stay behind the ladies, but when he sees the open door, he will run up to it and listen.

Pyros trails the pair, unable to catch up with their brisk pace without a full-tilt sprint. He reaches the Jail just as the girls push their way inside, so listening suddenly seems moot. \


The entry room the Jail looks perfectly normal, though the hearth of the fireplace lies cold. The table and chairs stand undisturbed, a wooden mug of beer still upright next to a plate of crumbs. The double doors to the cell area remain securely fastened, and nothing breaks the calm impression of the room… until she spots the swinging door to the kitchen… The wood bulges out at a spot as if it had been crushed from the other side by a terrific blow… and something props it open just a hand’s breadth or so… Elsa gasps and draws her mace, pointing out the obstruction to the bard… the toe of a booted foot keeps the portal open, positioned so the rest of the body must be lying prone inside the kitchen… An instant later Pyros appears behind them in the main entryway.

[Jenara]

"Pyros." Mira whispers, catching sight of the Kender then the boot. "Something.." stepping forward quietly she releases Elsa so she can fight making sure she moves with her, does he door move at all?

[Nocturno]

On high alert Pyros readies his hoopak with a stone.

[TristenC]

[Ooc: the door doesn't move. No sound save for the movement from the trio can be heard.]

The second Mira releases her hand, Elsa readies her mace and adopts a determined expression.

[Jenara]

Stepping closer, sword in hand Mira tries to get a look at the 'body'.

[Nocturno]

"Is that a guard?" Pyros will whisper yell to the ladies.

[Jenara]

"I think... It might be." Mira whispers back.
