Nothing more can be seen of the body from here. There is a light on in the kitchen, but the angle makes it impossible to see more than an empty corner without moving the door, the body lying in the way beyond.

[Ooc: it is a swinging door and can be pushed open or pulled open, though the foot will have to be moved first if it is pulled, and pushing will shove the body farther into the room]

"Elsa, some help? We need to get the door open, and the foot is. Well it's in the way." Mira kneels down sheaving her blade and motioning to Pyros. "Cover us, please?"

Elsa comes over but keeps her mace out. Shoving the booted foot farther into the kitchen she catches the door with her free hand. Nodding once to Mira she mouths a 3-count before pulling the door swiftly open into the main room. The body of a young man with blonde hair lies face down, the back of his head caved completely in. Blood and hair mat the splintered surface of the damaged door, telling the tale of his demise. Across the room, seated by the wall another body hunches over motionless. Bloodied arms and hands wrapped around his torso in what was an ultimately futile attempt to stop the bleeding and keep his intestines inside. The door to the wood shed lies broken to flinders just inside the opening, having fallen inside. The secret passage used by the party to initially escape the cell area stands ajar...

Mercy of the mother... Elsa whispers in shock, but doesn't shirk from her duty. She quickly checks the pulse of each man, but shakes her head. They're gone...

"Oh my!" Pyros' eyes will go big as saucers.... "What could do that!"

"One... One of those things... The Wolf things, what did Jerry Call them? Werewolves?" Mira stammers, "Something strong enough ripped them apart, it has to be one of those." Drawing her blade once more she looks over at the secret door.

"We... we have to prepare ourselves, Yasir knew the passage was there, he...." Fighting back the tears she wipes the moisture from her eyes with the sleeve of her blouse. "Elsa, what if he changed, what if that noise....? We need to go to the Cells, I NEED to know." Moving away she takes a brief look at the bodies, does she reckonise either of them?

Once she has checked them she will move to the secret door.

Pyros will tip toe through the gore at a fast pace. He will then try to intercept Mira at the secret door.

"If one of those things, is down there, you should probably let me have a peek first. If it did that to those poor guards... I just feel like I might not get spotted if I were to check first."

"It came this way, I'm no tracker, we'd need Art for that... but it came this way, it came FROM the Cells, then destroyed the Woodshed, then it killed these men. And left..." She asks letting Pyros take the lead but she wil follow up behind with Elsa.

Pyros will try to get a few steps ahead of the ladies then try to blend into the walls, and move more quietly.

Mira has to tip the head back of the seated man. He is 30-ish with white hair, but nobody she has ever seen before. He wears the uniform of a guardsman. The other man by the door wears street clothes, but something seems oddly familiar about him... Elsa rolls the young man over onto his back, the blonde hair falling away from his blood stained face... Devon lies dead, a look of utter shock on his young, motionless features...

Pyros heads off the bard, taking place by the secret door ahead of her. The stench of the cell can be smelled beyond in the dark. He makes some noise, but his infravision quickly adjusts. There are no lights on within the cell or hall beyond and he hears nothing moving in the hallway beyond]


[Ooc: the secret door only opens into the room. The shattered back door lies inside as if it were bashed in from outside.
Pyros is inside the last cell, door open to the hall. How does he proceed?]

(Backtracking)

"Devon..." Mira leans down closing his eyes with her fingers and kisses the young mans head, "You should have come to the show..." Stepping back she heads off with the others.

(And now)

Mira comes up behind the Kender, holding onto Elsa, her sword in front of her, "We should call the Guards.. But, I need to know."

"Shhhh" Pyros will ironically shush the Bard.

He will slowly move along the left wall. Until he gets to the front of the cell. Once there he will try to peer into the hallway through the bars.

Knowing his way around a cell or three, he employs his, "let's see if the guard is coming" technique to looking down the hall without actually making it obvious.

Pyros picks his way carefully through the cell to peer into the hallway. To mira the cell is nearly pitch black, only scarcely illuminated by the kitchen. Elsa takes her hand to lead her, using her halfling infravision.

Pyros hugs the wall and peeks just the side of his head out. The cell hallway is empty of occupants, but that is not the most surprising thing. The door to the cell where Jaconos' body was dumped lies shattered. The two portculli between the last cell and where Yasir was staying in the hall are mangled like tin wire, welds and rivets popped and torn like wax; leaving an opening a large man could easily pass through...

Mira looks at the Departing Kender then at Elsa before looking back at him in surprise, shrugging she stays put and keeps quiet.

First he will test the cell door, if open he will swing it open and look for anyone. If locked he will try to pick it. Then stick his head out to see if anyone is there.

If no one is around, he will find a torch and light it with his flint and steel.

As he goes to light it. "Mind your eyes."

Sword drawn Mira follows holding Elsa near, a faint tremble in her hands as she walks, this looked bad.... she should have brought the others...
