Re: CH. 16: Homecoming
Baeros looks at Jocelyn with one eyebrow up as she says her sentence about sweetheart, 'Was it reference to me?' Since the conversation goes in a peaceful direction right now he holds himself from putting his hands on the swords hilt, avoiding provoking a fight, but he keeps looking at the half ogres, somewhat in hate and somewhat in pity, 'The Ogres probably had raped their mothers which is turn probably dies giving birth.' He doesn't care much if that is the truth, as long as it justify and encourages his hate to that specie.
'This Raven will betray us in a second after he get our gold and his girl. We will meet the pirate, that's sure, but probably tied and delivered to butcher while he gets more gold from the pirates.' He thinks planning to warn Jocelyn from cooperating blindly or giving her whereabouts to him. "Jocelyn. May we have a word in private?"

Val presses the attack on ambusher #2
Re: CH. 16: Homecoming
Ouragana continues to listen, trying to gauge how much she would have to do or to pay to get one of the girls as her maidservant.
There's more to me than meets the eye...
Re: CH. 16: Homecoming
Jocelyn, Ouragana, Baeros, Gallath and Drav (Enott Harbor/Sardonx 15th, 6 PM)
"Sable? The witch?" Raven asks. "Hmm, okay, I do some business with her. I'll send her word while you go and retrieve my property. They're occupying an old warehouse on the docks. It's well guarded and there isn't much time before their ship arrives and they take off with her, so you better get going." He gives them instructions on how to get there.
Val and Naras (Ixitachitl Lair/Sardonx 12th, 1 PM)
Cye and Shin continue to struggle to get out of the net while the women fight to defend them. Val manages to evade a bite, then skewers her opponent completely, killing it. She is now free to do something else, like assist one of the other combatants or help free those trapped.
Naras manages to stab her own opponent, leaving a gash in one of its wings. This is right after the creature bites her shoulder, but luckily her magical vestments warded off the sharp teeth to avoid any actual harm to the dwarf.
Initiative
Val (1d10+5): 4+5 = 9
Naras (1d10+5): 5+5 = 10
Serenna (1d10+7): 3+7 = 10
Shin (1d10): 4
Cye (1d10): 1
Ixitachitl Ambusher 01 (1d10): 8
Ixitachitl Ambusher 02 (1d10): 8
Ixitachitl Ambusher 03 (1d10): 1
Round 3!
Ixitachitl Ambusher 03 bites at Serenna [TN 14] (1d20): 5, miss.
Cye makes a save vs. breath weapon (-2) to try and shake off the net [TN 15] (1d20-2): 10-2 = 8, fail.
Shin makes a save vs. breath weapon (-2) to try and shake off the net [TN 15] (1d20-2): 1-2 = -1, fail.
Ixitachitl Ambusher 01 bites at Naras in magical vestments (-5 hit) [TN 11] (1d20-5): 11-5 = 6, miss.
Ixitachitl Ambusher 02 bites at Val [TN 13] (1d20): 10, miss.
Val stabs at Ixitachitl Ambusher 02 with her trident of the hunter (+2 hit/dmg) with great skill (+1 hit/+2 dmg) [TN 10] (1d20+3): 12+3 = 15, hit for (1d6+4): 6+4 = 10 damage. Ixitachitl Ambusher 02 dies.
Naras stabs at Ixitachitl Ambusher 01 with her magical (+1 hit/dmg) spear [TN 12] (1d20+1): 17+1 = 18, hit for (1d6+1): 1+1 = 2 damage. Ixitachitl Ambusher 01 is now moderately wounded.
Serenna stabs at Ixitachitl Ambusher 03 with her trident with great skill (+1 hit/+2 dmg) [TN 10] (1d20+1): 8+1 = 9, miss.

Re: CH. 16: Homecoming
Naras tries to stab ixitachitl #1 again, employing her magical shield to fend off it's snapping teeth, if possible.
{OOC: Maybe the shield is already factored in, I'm not sure. Anyway, I think you said a shield could be used with Magical Vestment. But if I'm wrong, she'll shift to using the spear in a two-handed grip to get the extra damage (1d6+1 ==> 1d8+2), assuming she actually manages to hit the creature again.}

Re: CH. 16: Homecoming
"You'll get your gold after we...save the children," Jocelyn says to Raven. She looks to Baeros for a moment, then nods. "We're done here for now anyway," she says and motions for the group to walk out of the orphanage.
Re: CH. 16: Homecoming
Seeing that the conversation ended and no information was revealed to 'Raven' his own warning seems stupid right now. But he did got Jocelyn full attention and he feels kinda ridiculous. True to his nature of saying the incorrect thing at the worst times Baeros, trying to find a way of the awkward situation, firmly holds Jocelyn at her shoulder, leans forward and says quietly enough so the others won't hear him, "I know your mind is crowded, so I just wanted to say that I love you. I tried to deny it to myself, but I find that impossible. So you can take off at least one thing of your head and get some peace of mind." he smiles heartedly, which would might frighten strangers, but not those who came to know him. "Let's go save that kid, shall we?" He says more loud, only then, a little bit too late he remembers the other part of the warning he wanted to give to Jocelyn and adds, "Oh, and I think Raven will sell us to the pirates, so be careful. He might have send a word for them already that we are heading to the warehouse."

(OOC: Nuke, Chris, we would miss the extra force in the fight.
Not wanting to step on anyone toes, it might be I miss read or miss understood something but I think I read few post ago Nuke said something about 'The netting' and I assumed he meant using one charge of the trident to catch the Ixitachitl in the net. I didn't see it happen, but I thought it was a good idea. Did I miss it or did you miss it by any chance? It matters to the Ixitachitl still alive.

Jocelyn, Ouragana, Baeros, Gallath and Drav (Enott Harbor/Sardonx 15th, 6 PM)
"I'll be waiting," Raven says. The party steps outside, back onto the streets before speaking again. It's a little later now in the evening, but the sun is still up due to it being summer.
Val and Naras (Ixitachitl Lair/Sardonx 12th, 1 PM)
The battle rages on, but Val breaks away and grabs at the large net. Lifting it, she starts swimming upward, allowing Cye and Shin to escape.
Meanwhile, Serenna manages to run her opponent through, stabbing into its brain. She then starts swimming toward Naras to help her, as the dwarf is having difficulty actually hitting the creature.
Initiative
Val (1d10+3): 5+3 = 8
Naras (1d10+5): 4+5 = 9
Serenna (1d10+7): 9+7 = 16

Cye (1d10): 4
Ixitachitl Ambusher 01 (1d10): 4
Ixitachitl Ambusher 03 (1d10): 5
Round 4!
Ixitachitl Ambusher 01 bites at Naras in magical vestments (-5 hit) and using her magical (-1 hit) shield (-1 hit) [TN 9] (1d20-7): 9-7 = 2, miss.
Cye makes a save vs. breath weapon (-2) to try and shake off the net [TN 15] (1d20-2): 11-2 = 9, fail.
Ixitachitl Ambusher 03 bites at Serenna [TN 14] (1d20): 12, miss.
Shin makes a save vs. breath weapon (-2) to try and shake off the net [TN 15] (1d20-2): 6-2 = 4, miss.
Val manages to lift up the net, freeing Shin and Cye.
Naras stabs at Ixitachitl Ambusher 01 with her magical (+1 hit/dmg) spear [TN 12] (1d20+1): 2+1 = 3, miss.
Serenna stabs at Ixitachitl Ambusher 03 with her trident with great skill (+1 hit/+2 dmg) [TN 10] (1d20+1): 20+1 = 21, critical hit! for (2d6+3): 3,2 + 3 = 6 damage. Ixitachitl Ambusher 03 is killed.
(OOC: I'm pretty sure I've mentioned it before, but employing a net from the trident of the hunter is a full round action. You cannot do that and attack in the same round. So when you posted you were doing both, Nuke, I chose to pick one and ignore the other.
Chris, I have been including the magical shield in my attack calculations. So her base AC with the shield is 8, not including the magical vestments. Ixitachitl have a THAC0 of 19, so 19-8 = 11, so the target number is 11. Without the shield, then it's 19-10 = 9. The extra -5 for the magical vestments is applied to the roll itself. If you want, I can start applying the shield bonus to the roll itself, so they'll have a TN of 9 to attack her, but they get a -7 to attack instead.
As a rule of thumb, though, I always assume she is using her shield unless her other hand is occupied or she doesn't have it with her or you specifically state she isn't.

OOC: *facepalm*
IC: "O....Okay?" Jocelyn says in pure confusion. She isn't exactly sure how Baeros telling her something like that, in the middle of what they were trying to do, is going to bring her peace of mind. Though, this isn't the place to discuss something along those lines, so since Baeros moved on from the topic, she moves on as well. "Uh,," she stammers for a moment, and shakes her head as if she was trying to clear out all the junk that was in there. "His kids are on the line right now, so selling us out isn't in his best interest."

"Sure it is. He will bargain getting both the kids and the money for you. After all they seems pretty obsessed with you, hunting you islands away from their base. Just don't let your guard down and don't trust him." Baeros says starting to look for the warehouse Raven described.

Re: CH. 16: Homecoming
Ouragna steps between Bearos and Jocelyn, and tugs at Bearos's sleeve. "I appreciate that this is important to you, but really, you should discuss these things when we're calmly at sea, and not when we have work to do! It distracts here, and in the worst case, distracion can kill us!" she seems really upset.
There's more to me than meets the eye...

Following Raven's instructions, the party finds the warehouse in question. It's quite large and there are two obvious methods of entrance. Doors to the south and doors to the east. Both entrances are guarded by two people. They appear to be warriors in studded leather, carrying cutlasses and pistols.
There are a number of windows, but all of them are boarded up. There's also no indication to how many more are inside.
"I say we pick a door, kill the guards, kick it down and fight our way in," Brock says. "We've already defeated a devil, after all. What challenge could these slavers put up?"
"Or, we could try and find a way to sneak in," Naishe offers. "Maybe with the right words, even get the guards to let us walk in unchallenged."
(OOC: Well, I guess character conflict is still better than no interaction whatsoever, if nothing else.)
