The figure remains, flying straight into Kim, she feels cold, lonely, trapped and alone...

Searos screams in terror as the head passes through him.

"It wasn't me! They forced me to come! (points at the party) You can kill them but let me live! I'll spread your legend to every fish monger in this gods-blighted village, I swear it! Haven't you heard? I'm Ol' Honest Searos! My word is my bond, just please let me live!"

Kim swallows hard. Old feelings, old memories, everything comes surging back. But they had been overcome before, and that had to be done again. Breathing deeply, Kim struggles to regain control and composure.

Echo turns from the trap door upon hearing the voice, and pauses in her actions upon seeing the ghostly figure. "It's an illusion," she says softly to herself as she tries to disbelieve what is going on around her.

The apparition flies up towards Searos, her hair flying behind her, her ragged clothes fluttering. If Searos was focusing he'd noticing something about the figure, but in his current state he can't focus on much. "LEAVE!" The figure cries the voice of a child.

Despite Echo disbelieving the figure, it remains in her vision, it is obvious to Echo this is no illusion.

Vee sees the apparition fly towards her, raising her staff she grits her teeth, just managing to keep it together she screams.

"Pelor sends you back to where you came!" Brax shouts raising her symbol above her head, the figure stares at her in confusion for a few moments, its face changing to that of a small child before disappearing. "It appears we have another problem..." Brax mutters to Vee.

As the voice tells him to leave but before Brax does her whole "Sun God" thing, Searos points at the floating head. "You got it. I'm outta here." And turns around to head for the exit.

Gunter holds a muscled arm out to block the thiefs path.

"Hold on there big guy...we came here together and we leave that way. If you're right about a smuggling ring, than this is something we should investigate. besides, smugglers probably have lots of treasure, right? Treasure that, I'm sure, could be re-appropriated..."

Searos glares at the burly arm blocking his path for a moment. He briefly considers his odds of either breaking the arm or somehow dodging underneath it without suffering any injuries. Those odds don't seem great and he glares at the ranger. "Sometimes, discretion is the better part of valor. You can't claim things who's owners no longer own their property if you're dead. Besides, I don't know if there's a smuggling ring. For all I know this is a perfectly boring and wholly unique village where nothing illegal ever happens. Crazier things have happened! I can't really think of anything crazier than a town without crime, but I don't know! Maybe they're just racing their boats or trawlers or whatever down the river to see who can drag their nets the fastest. You know, maybe a drag race? Its a really boring town. We don't have to stay to deal with some flying head ghost thingy."

"What for a problem?" Vee asks, but than she freeze. "It's because of the armor isn't it? I must have been stupid. Don't get things from dead people, my master said said. And he was right."

"Trust me thief, I don't want to spend any more time in this mildewy lair than I have to, but if we really can help some people out and maybe get a little gold along the way then I say why not? Who knows, maybe once we figure out whats going on here and get it sorted, we could even buy this place here and live out our days sitting on a pile of coin high above Saltmarsh."

He stops himself and considers life in the same place with this strange, twitchy little man.

"Well, maybe not both of us in this particular house...but you get my point."

Echo watches the thief and ranger curiously before shaking her head. "Some people just can't overcome their fear," she says with a smirk. "Besides, it is gone now."

"Whatever that thing was, I've never read about or even heard about anything like it," Amon says. "Searos may have a point. We could be out of our depth here."

Searos is in mid-argument with Gunter when he suddenly just stops and his jaw goes slack. He looks over his shoulder at Amon and then turns back to Gunter. He jerks his thumb over his shoulder at Amon and asks Gunter "Did the Lord Mage back there just agree with me about something?"

Brax stands still. her mouth moving in silent prayer, after some time she speaks. "There is a presence here, one who longs to be free." She reaches down to the trap door.. "She is imprisoned in this house, possibly by force or by circumstance, I believe her desire for us to leave is her desire reflected on us.."

"I don't quite get you, Brax." Kim says. "You say that presence longs to be free, and so tells us, who could free her, to leave? That doesn't make sense to me."
