Down the Dungeon Way - the actual gaming thread

[Kafen]

Bei looks at the area, again. Specifically, he is trying to observe the small details in order to best get a torch up there. (( Can we get a detailed idea of what the area is like? ))

"Sorry, I meant the cuts, do you think they are poisoned?"
She looks to the ceiling, "flaming arrows, some lamp oil... "



(OOC by LWW - no poison was transferred; the cuts are just annoying)

Bei goes to inspect the wounds. He checks for poison. "Right, I should look at that before we move on..." Bei makes sure that he does his job. "So, arrows and lamp oil, right?"

[Jenara]

Esse scratches the cuts once more, then reaches into her pack, pulling out a spare shirt, she sets to work ripping the sleeves off, "Lets see what we can do?. " She pokes her head into the doorway, she sizes up the rough number of plants above her.

(How many plants are there roughly, or is it too difficult to tell?)

(OOC by LWW - no definite number, just vines coming out of the ceiling which entangle the victim and then devour it via the leaves. I would say picture walking a jungle path overgrown with vines.)

[Kafen]

"Can we shift through using the fire to cover us as we move?" Bei asks them.

(OOC by LWW - touching the vines with fire will make them shivel and die; what remains alive will retract back into the ceiling. Carrying torches will enable all to move through the 20' area where the vines reside.)

[Stik]

"I say we roast one of them as an example to the others. If that doesn't work, we can make a bigger fire if we must. Needn't be a very big fire. Just a torch, a spear, cracklecracklecrackle, and voila."

[Jenara]

"Ok, everyone light a torch, stay together. We are going through slowly, attack anything that gets near."

Bei takes up position and readies to light the makeshift torch and take his position. He suggests. "If we hit trouble, I would advocate retreat rather than forward unless we are close to the other side."

[Jenara]

"Agreed, and watch your feet the ground gets slipperly when you kill them, DON'T let them bite you!."

[Ismaels-Legacy]

Bjarg pulls a fold of his cloak around his head to cover the back of his neck, lights a torch, and hefts his shield. "Hey, Joker, wasn't there a song about being In The Jungle and a Leopard Sleeping Tonight or something...?"

*At the points where the torch flames touch the vines, the plants begin to shivel, and the decomposing sections drop to the tiled floor. Whatever sections of the vines that remain alive retreat up into their ceiling home. The 20' area clears, so the group may continue down the hallway unharmed.*



(Reminder - open archway coming up on the left, and the hallway makes a right turn at the very end)

Bei cringes a bit at the flames as he moves through the tunnel. "Shall we flip a coin for direction?" He asks the group in a low whisper.

Bjarg releases his cloak and switches the torch to his shield hand. Hefting his spear in the free hand he says "I'm going to peek around this archway to see if there's anyone waiting to ambush us."

[Jenara]

Esse, still slightly creeped out by the Vines, suddenly bursts into life. She grabs Bjarg's arm gently, pulls him down and Whispers in his ear.

"Hmmm.. You go, I go "
She puts her hand up, pausing the rest of the group, just before the arch, and quietly peeks with Bjarg.

Bei grins and lets them go first. However, he stands ready to draw his weapons.
