Elias does Bastian a favor and passes through the kitchen, retrieving a bit of food for himself and the others along the way. When he returns to the bungalow, he sets the food out quietly, sits down, and eats.

Angel nods when Elias returns with the food, giving him a semi-smile.

"So?" She starts to say, looking at Elias and Daos (assuming he is here) "What did you think? Was that an Elf?" She gives Bastian a quick nudge to see if he is ok and resumes her eating.

"I have not seen a body like that, that is for certain, but I am hired for my sword arm, not my mind." She smirks and looks to the Mage.

(OOC: I didnt mean for Angel to be a total Cow there! Not in the slightest.)

"You know," Elias says, sticking some food into his mouth. " I don't have any idea." He munches for a few moments.

"I think maybe it was an elf once. Somebody said something about a vampire, and that was what got me thinking. Maybe something happened to this guy. Something bad." Elias wiggles his eyebrows and smirks, taking another bit of food.

"Agreed, it was an Elf, the body shape and features said that, but a Vampire? Hmmmm." She eats her food, almost considerately checking Bastian. "Are you ok?"

"Anyway, yes something bad happened here. I intend to Sail out with the Fishermen tomorrow, and check the area they found the body, perhaps some clue as to the vessel can be found."

"Ah, I didn't mean that he was a vampire, just that his situation might be similar to that of a vampire. Perhaps the poor man was like us once. But yes, we need more information."

"With me gone on my boat trip you will need to guard Fraso. That will be hard as we.. are not all thar popular." She gives the Elf a smile, "If Bastian is sober he shall accompany me.."

(ooc: Umm, we seem to have forgotten our mounts, or am I forgetting something?)

Bastian makes his best attempt to bless the bread that is before him (OOC: Casting bless). With a sigh, he thinks better of his actions and decides to bless everything set at the table. (OOC: using up other prayers to cast bless on the bread and drink separately.) Taking a glass of some light wine, he says "A bit of the hair of the dog that bit you, eh?" He tips back the glass and takes a quick gulp.

Fraso enjoys his meal in relative silence, going over his field notes the whole time. It is an unappetizing sight, to say the least, as the book he is reading from - the one he was taking his notes in while manipulating and examining a rotting corpse - is not sitting right next to his plate of food. The all-too-visible stains on the notebook's pages and covers, some of which are still wet, seem not to faze the man in the least.

Angel sits watching the assembled group, unsure what to say she stays quiet, eating slowly and trying not to look at Fraso's book. She had seen blood, bodies, and other ssuch sights, so the idea didnt bother her.

"My Lord, what did you find? She asks after some time, this was not a usual duty, thus changes needed to be made to her approach, ever trying to be useful she looks for things she can assist with.

"Nothing concrete, young woman, not yet. Other than the fact that this is not a lich, or a vampyr, or any such thing. Not one of the vitality-altered, that is certain, but I knew that before we arrived. I have some suspicions, but nothing I can be certain of at this time.
"I suspect I shall be at my books for quite some time this evening."

=====================================

Following dinner an elderly couple wearing garments little better than sackcloth come to clean up the dishes. The man respectfully asks about some uneaten white bread still sitting in the table, and would you mind if he took it home with him. He does not look as though he is starving, and he did not show interest in any of the other scraps, just the bread.

In his current state, Bastian absentmindedly answers, "Please, do so with my blessing." (OOC: Although I suppose this is literal considering I blessed it earlier. :P )

"Interesting." She ponders that for some time, eating slowly. "I believe this whole trip will prove to be suprising, I would be interested to know what you discover."

She takes an interest in the couple as they arrive, watching them slowly, "I don't see why not." She replies following Bastians blessing, "Although I feel the need to ask why, you are welcome to any left over fare, it is the right thing to do.. But why the bread?"

She assumes its due to the fact that bread is just, uncommon, but it intrigues her.

She shows the occasional moment of concern for the Cleric, reminding herself to keep an eye on him in the future.

"It's the white flour, Lady," the old woman says. "It makes such a fine bread - melts in your mouth, really. Master Culla treats us well, but the white bread is not for us."

"I see.." She replies, obviously not well enough to clothe them properly she muses. "Please, take your fill."

She'd seen people treated like this before, it wasn't a major deal, at least they were mostly clean and fed, that was something these days.

"My friends." She says without a hint of sarcasm, "After our reception, what do you wish to do about guards and watches? We are not welcome here, the people view us with suspicion and distrust, although I do not think they would attack us openly.. Some precautions should be made.. Suggestions Master Elias?"

Daos eats his meal quietly, and doesn't seem to care either way whether the servants eat the left over bread or not. When he is finished, he looks over his spellbook. When Fraso speaks, he glances toward the mage, as if hoping he'll finally say something conclusive. When it becomes apparent that will not happen, he turns his attention back to his book.
