Sorry to hear about your dog, Kafen.

So that ends Chapter 8, and starts Chapter 9.

Theros will be staying with the elves, but the rest of the group moves on.

This was the part of the campaign where Laurana was to be introduced for the first time, although she wouldn't become playable until much later. This was also the point where Gilthanas would become playable. As Laurana was already a PC, I swapped their roles. Also, because of Laurana being a PC, there was more emphasis on her home-coming, whereas in the module (and books) the emphasis was more on Tanis.

In the module, Gilthanas joins the party and leads them to the Sla-Mori. Laurana, on the other hand, is kidnapped by Toede on the wyvern. (In the books, if I remember correctly, Laurana simply runs away and goes after them. By the time they discover her, they are forced to take her along as there's no time to send someone with her to go back.) As I switched their roles, it was now Gilthanas who gets kidnapped by Toede.

Then I thought to myself, heck, if I'm kidnapping NPCs, why stop there? I had Tanis, Flint and Raistlin taken too, which frees me up NPC-wise. But only temporarily, assuming the party is successful in rescuing them. This also means that the party is now leaderless, and I'm very interested to see who, if anyone, will step in and take the reins. And whether the party will listen to that person anymore than they did Tanis.

I've added some quith-pa to everyone's inventory. Should be enough to keep you all going for awhile now.

I'll get started on Chapter 9 now. But...as always, I ask if there are any questions, any feedback, any thoughts, etc., on the game thus far.

We have diverted very far from the novels now!

Hehehe, Sturm is probably best suited to the vacant leader role, caramon would be but despite my constant prods Tilis is vacant and otherwise distracted, which annoys me greatly!

Knowing the books like I do, it will be interesting to see what happens.....

Maybe. Sturm's sexism (were it up to him, all of the women in the group would stay in the back while the men were all on the frontline) and fervent devotion to the Oath can be a hindrance, too, though. We'll see how it goes, though.

Yeah, that's why I went ahead and paralyzed Caramon in that last fight. It was actually Riverwind who was supposed to get paralyzed. But I switched their rolls, because at that point, mltillis hadn't posted in 12 days anyway, and I didn't want to hold things up any more than they had to be.

As for deviations, I imagine more will crop up pretty soon. Especially without the leader (Tanis), mentor (Flint) and sage (Raistlin) to guide everyone.

"I see how I rank in the scheme of things. Not much better than a gully dwarf," she mutters. It was barely audible really. At this point, she was down right determined to prove her worth some how.
Just sticking to the Code, if he had his way Laurana would be behind too!
I don't see him really taking the leadership on too long, he's too inflexible.

No worries. I'm playing Tika just a tad bit differently than how she was described in the books. I want things to be different from the books actually.

Ohhh we are FARRR from the books now, and your Tika is great, more 'rounded' than the Novels to be honest.

Need to start getting healed, the group is in a bad way, 'fraid that means Goldmoon will have to be a walking band aid until we all get stronger.

I would have thought so, too, but she didn't. That's why I waited for her before I ended the chapter, but she didn't use any further healing and said she was "OK with FFWD" so...*shrugs*
