Sorry to hear about your dog, Kafen.
So that ends Chapter 8, and starts Chapter 9.
Theros will be staying with the elves, but the rest of the group moves on.
This was the part of the campaign where Laurana was to be introduced for the first time, although she wouldn't become playable until much later. This was also the point where Gilthanas would become playable. As Laurana was already a PC, I swapped their roles. Also, because of Laurana being a PC, there was more emphasis on her home-coming, whereas in the module (and books) the emphasis was more on Tanis.
In the module, Gilthanas joins the party and leads them to the Sla-Mori. Laurana, on the other hand, is kidnapped by Toede on the wyvern. (In the books, if I remember correctly, Laurana simply runs away and goes after them. By the time they discover her, they are forced to take her along as there's no time to send someone with her to go back.) As I switched their roles, it was now Gilthanas who gets kidnapped by Toede.
Then I thought to myself, heck, if I'm kidnapping NPCs, why stop there? I had Tanis, Flint and Raistlin taken too, which frees me up NPC-wise. But only temporarily, assuming the party is successful in rescuing them. This also means that the party is now leaderless, and I'm very interested to see who, if anyone, will step in and take the reins. And whether the party will listen to that person anymore than they did Tanis.
I've added some quith-pa to everyone's inventory. Should be enough to keep you all going for awhile now.
I'll get started on Chapter 9 now. But...as always, I ask if there are any questions, any feedback, any thoughts, etc., on the game thus far.
