Oh, I'm handling living rough - I told Kath this morning that this is like camping, only indoors - I'm just not enjoying it. The house was 54F (12C) this morning when I got out of my cold shower. And it's going to get worse before it gets better unless they get the power on soon. It's pretty cold outside, and getting colder.

The other problem is that there's no power to local grocery stores (some are open, but the ones that are have no milk or other perishables in stock, having lost their inventory during the outage), local restaurants are also closed and gasoline is going to become a problem very soon. Already there are long lines at the gas stations. They're saying that it will take a long time to fix because parts of the distribution network are down.

I'm about a mile and a half from the shore. A mile south of me there were floods and people's homes have been ruined and rendered uninhabitable. Soldiers have been deployed to prevent looting. You can't drive more than a mile past my block on the main avenue without passing through an armed checkpoint (I tried saying that these were not the 'droids they were looking for, but it didn't work).

Power was restored to my home noontime today. We had been down since about 9:00 PM last Monday.
Still no gas for the car, but that is expected to be sorted out by tomorrow. More stations are up and running and more deliveries are arriving.

Yay! Great!

And Stik, Brax, Searos, Kim and Gunter knew each other for a while before saltmarsh!

Stik knew us all before Saltmarsh? I thought he was a newcomer.

In Martin's thread he suggested we all acted like we had known each other from birth, when we met at the pub.

I know that, but Martin has no way of knowing that. He's still a bit hurt after getting the impression that he was shut out.

This is true on two counts. He so was left out

Not to mention the way he shoved his nose into our business! Lol

Hey, don't pick on Martin's clothes! Every single piece of his wardrobe came from one high-end tailor or another in some of the great cities of Greyhawk and elsewhere. It's top-notch, quality stuff.
The fact that he displays absolutely no sign of knowing what goes with what is another story.

And as to sticking his nose in, well, it is said that well-behaved people rarely make it into the history books. Besides, chaos breeds opportunity.
