I am not bickering, I am attempting to explain (and defend) my actions.
Didn't say you or anyone was, just hoping that we can draw a line under this and move on.

I'm here to have fun.

Sigh...

Well folks, most of it was/is my fault, I think. Since Goldmoon is the sole healer, my idea is to generally save healing spells because we're often all in peril, and maybe I give many hit points back to someone who in the next battle doesn't get hit by the enemy at all, while someone who looked still pretty good has bad luck with the dice and gets slain? What I had planned to do was to use up all the remaining healing spells in the evenings.

Alas, when we were in Qualinost, and Jaded asked if we were ready to move on, I simply said yes. I was very busy at the time and did not realise it meant that I was "wasting" healing spells, i.e., not using them one day to regain them in the morning.

A simple question - by any of you - "don't you think Goldmoon should heal us all before she goes to sleep" would have remedied that. Maybe we don't function as a group yet, player interaction is limited, and so characters are not kept from serious mistakes?

The second mistake I made, of course, was not to check Goldmoon's hit points before engaging into battle, to see she could get negative with a single hit. She could have retreated and remained in full defence next to Tas.

I guess with a little more attention to each other, we can avoid situations like this. I accept Jaded's style of playing by the books and the dice, and I acknowledge that my mistakes - as listed above - are responsible for the situation. But I would appreciate it if, as players (and I include the DM in this) we poke each other when we have the impression that there is a dangerous mistake in the making.

There's only one thing I'm a little dissatisfied with: So far, all of Golmoon's attempts to recruit more clerics for Mishakal - and end the dangerous dependence on just her person, and my skills as a player - have been declined.

You need not shoulder all of the blame, Breila. There's plenty to go around.

I would rather you all take this as a learning experience than anything else.

I wouldn't call it dangerous dependence. Most parties usually only have one cleric (consider both Unlikely Heroes and Saltmarsh, for instance).

The only attempt I recall is at the very last minute with the elves. And as Porthios pointed out, there wasn't time (and if she had managed to convert any elves, they would have remained with their people, not gone with the party).

Worry not, there will be opportunities to convert clerics eventually, including the Leader of the People the party is still searching for.

Yes, but to me, they appear a lot less lethal than Dragonlance!

I did try to convert the former head of the seekers in Solace, too. And the point of finding converts is also that, if Goldmoon dies, there will be no cleric and no magical healing in all the world and not only no more cleric in the party.

What I do hope is that we, as players, learn from this to be more attentive to each other. Please, folks, poke me when I'm about to make a mistake! PM me, when I do something deliberately because I think it's in character, I will let you know!

Remember, though, that this module is higher level than the others. The average party level now is, what, around level 6-7? Saltmarsh is designed for levels 1-3, and Pod-Caverns and Sarcophagus Legion were designed for level 2-4. Higher levels mean higher lethality.

Oh, right. But you didn't have the Disks with you at the time, so that was just bad luck.
Breila wrote:...if Goldmoon dies, there will be no cleric and no magical healing in all the world and not only no more cleric in the party.
Not at all. There's still Lord Verminaard! :P

But all kidding aside, if Goldmoon does die, that doesn't mean the big GAME OVER. The Gods of Light can just choose someone else to carry on her mission. They're not going to give up so easily, I assure you.

Ok, jaded sent me a pm, but i want to explain openly.

Sturm is not silly, he knows some of the group won't follow him, however they appear to react well to Laurana.

She is headstrong and willful, giving her this chance means he can keep an eye on her and hopefully kerb some of her ways.

He can lead from the background and still let Laurana have some control.

Is this the right action for a knight? I don't know, but i think he would have at least learned how to handle people. Jerrard.

It's fine, Jenara. I was only asking out of curiosity.

Anyway, anything anyone wants to do before we skip ahead to morning?

Yes, use the rest of the healing spells!

CMW for Tika 4 HP restored, CLW for Riverwind and herself, 8 HP restored for each.

Goldmoon asks to be woken when the last of the night watches begin, so she can pray then and they will not be held up. She will ask for curing spells and for Remove Paralysis.

Thoughts?)
Like Jaded said, missed Magpie and Tas can't take point, he doesnt know the way.
So

Laurana / Tika
Magpie / Tas
Sturm / Caramon
Goldmoon / Riverwind
Eben

Better?

So what's the new marching order? All I got is that apparently Tas, Laurana and Magpie are going to walk sixty feet ahead of everyone else.

I do not mind a little lull by splitting up for a bit, if it helps us scout carefully, and put our various skills to work. Just sayin'.

I submit that ignoring a female of any species tends to result in the posted response. :)
