Thanks for the wishes, we had a very nice Christmas Eve and day here. A few heirlooms got passed on, and Vee and I got several Terry Pratchett books, plus one of the new "Dragonelves" series by German Author Bernhard Hennen, I have no idea if his books have been translated into English yet.

Folks, I'll have the house full of guests from tomorrow (Sunday) morning to Tuesday night, and will be leaving to see my folks on Wednesday, to come back on the 5th.

Here in Germany, we wish people "Guten Rutsch!" (lit., a "good slide", but it probably comes from the Yiddish/Hebrew "baruch"=blessing) when we think we see them for the last time in the old year, to wish a good passage into a new year full of happiness.

So have a good time on New Year's Eve, and see you again in the second week of the New Year!

Oh, nice - we might get a peak into the crates.

I am not sure whether Breila intended to hand us this opportunity, or whether Martin scored one on the Harbourmaster, but either way, yeah, we may get a chance to see what's in the crates.

I was thinking he might have to roach the place to find out what's in them. I had already figured a way to restore the wax seals after breaking them open, but if we don't have to do it illegally, so much the better.

I am hoping the contents might be tied in somehow to the bigger mystery in town.

It was not only the harbourmaster who was scratching his head... let's see what comes out of this.

And Martin's idea of cutting the ropes, leaving the seals intact, it reminded me of a story from this collection: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Till_Eulenspiegel. (They're as famous in German as the Canterbury Tales are in English)

You know what I'm picturing? I'm picturing the scene in the old Bugs Bunny cartoons, when someone is cooking carrots and the scent wafts into Bugs' burrow like a trail of smoke, and his nose picks up the scent, and he floats up out of bed, hanging from the scent by his nose, floating along and following the scent back to its source, all while still asleep.

That's a good visual, actually. I was going for a more enchantment based effect, but I could see the cartoon effect. :)

I like conjuring up pictures in your mind. :D

I do, too, but the ones I conjure are usually not so...nice.

Maybe I'm just an incurably optimistic and warm-hearted woman.

Nah. I think it's just that I occasionally like to scare my players without doing anything overtly scary.
