I had been re-reading the thread (like Ouragana picking through her notes) and summed it up to Areilon, but have made no mention to the age of the bloodstains to Jocelyn and Val, so we can go on.

If the players were wrongly interpreting a clue, that'd be one thing. If they jumped to the wrong conclusion, missed an important clue to focus on a piece of trivial data, ignored the clue, noticed the clue but didn't understand it was important, forgot a clue, etc., that would be fine. The reason I felt the need to barge in there was that in this instance, it wasn't a clue at all. It was a mistake on the player, not the character.

I just didn't want the whole adventure to be completely derailed because the party was looking for something that not only never existed, but was never stated to exist in the first place.

But as long as we're all on the same page now, it's all cool.

AFK a couple of days, feel free to NPC and let Val tag along.

Sorry to hear, I know first-hand what a pain it can be. While I didn't have to reinstall Windows myself when I lost my hard-drive, I do have to reinstall pretty much everything else. And it's taking forever, especially because my internet has stopped working reliably lately. So I can sympathize.

Hey, all. Just a heads up. I was going through everyone's inventory today (I was bored), and realized I hadn't been keeping up with it as well as I should have been. Currently, Jocelyn and Areilon are both in light encumbrance and Val is in moderate encumbrance. Just thought I'd let you all know, since like Ouragana, you can leave anything you don't really need in your rooms (for now).

Arei will leave her backpack, crossbow and bolts in the room.. and she wants to get some picks

Well, that certainly knocks her out of light encumbrance and then some.

Hmm, lockpicks. She'll need to go somewhere shady. I'd suggest checking with the Barnacle Inn.

That seems like a pretty unnecessary risk, as she could just go there the following day, when there's no risk of her being attacked or arrested and thrown in jail.

So a pitcher of ale has four servings, and thus two pitchers of ale have eight servings, total. How are the 8 servings going to be split between the party?

Horizon says Jocelyn doesn't drink at all, so...

Areilon - 2 drinks
Ouragana - 2 drinks
Val - 6 drinks

Does that sound right?
