Money wise I was thinking of the whole group, 500gp or thereabouts each should keep us going for some time.
After all, the last two sets of treasure she found, she gave away...

Indeed, it's ironically the biggest haul the party has acquired so far. (Currently, everyone has about 250 gp at the moment; Areilon has less, because she actually spent some of it, like on the crossbow and such. Selling the two guns and splitting it four ways is worth twice that much.)

And there's still one more adventure left in this arc. I wonder what everyone will spend their money on?

In any case, there's still some time before the ship leaves, so if there is anything anyone wants to do before we leave town, now is the time to do it.

Val just needs to touch base with Mist before the ship leaves. And salt water will do wonders to clean her up, at least enough for her.

I was wondering about that. Wasn't she raised by an adopted family? Was there a reason she didn't take their surname? You never went into any detail about that, so I was curious.

In other news, I may have found us a fifth player. More on that when I know for certain.

Since it has no relevance to the game so far, could we change "adopted" to "foster"? Then she would not have that family's name. "Stormbride" could have been her nickname while growing up, so it was the first thing that came to mind during introductions.

Hi folks! Cognomen, at your service. I'm the aforementioned potential fifth player. I'm going to go ahead and roll to see what I get before I start on a character concept; I hope that's ok.

Hmm. Interesting spread. A 17 and a 7... that could present some interesting RP possibilities (a highly intelligent yet incredibly unwise mage? A powerful yet terribly off-putting fighter?) It also occurs to me that those numbers would allow for a Paladin (probably a hard class for me to play, but I do like a challenge) -- not to mention a Druid, a Ranger or a Bard. I've always been curious about playing a Druid. In fact, as I type, that's the direction I'm leaning (though I could be convinced otherwise). (Side note: JadedDM, how do you feel about the use of kits, like those in the Complete Druid's Handbook?)

As far as race goes, I tend to gravitate towards half-elves, but it looks like playing a human would have some particularly interesting aspects to it in this setting.

Comments/advice would be very much appreciated. I should note that if I'm allowed to join this will be my first PbP game and my first non-video-game return to 2.0 in many years - I hope I can keep the noob-ness to a minimum!

Welcome Cognomen! Those are some great rolls. Just check out Jocelyn (our cleric) and her two 6's if you don't believe me!

I do allow kits, and I have the Druid's Handbook, so if one in particular catches your eye, let me know and I'll take a look at it. If it helps any, the setting where we are currently playing are a series of tropical islands. A few other things worth mentioning (all in the Lost Souls Handbook), is that any race can be a druid (or any other class) in this game, druids can be of any alignment (same with bards, although rangers and paladins have the same code of conduct found in core) and there's a large island (Octhanus) with lots of druids called Swanmays. If you play a druid, you need not be part of them, but it is an option if you are interested. (However, you can be from any island you like.)
