Ah. Never saw Hellsing or its Abridged form.

Oh, right, right. I remember now.

Huh, I wonder if there are even stats for those. *looks around*

Okay, I found something. In the Complete Book of Fighters, there is a weapon simply called a "Chain." It's a 6'-10' long chain with weights on both ends that is whirled very fast, so that both ends strike the opponent. It's great for called shots like disarming, tripping, pulling, dismounting, etc. It also states it's easy to conceal.

It says any culture can forge a chain but learning to fight with them is an Eastern culture technique. It costs 5 silver, weighs 3 lbs, is L sized (thus requiring both hands to wield), deals bludgeoning damage, has a speed factor of 5 and deals 1d4+1/1d4 damage.

Is this what you are talking about?

Well, the ones I was referring to are chains that can be held one one end, and the other has a blade. They range in sizes, with the Medium sized one doing 1d6 and having a 10' reach.

I just realized that I was concepting my character into Scorpion and his extending wrist blades. And I'm over it.

I was trying to get grappling hooks essentially, but realized my mistake.

On to continents again, what are the odds of me finding a map? c:

Oh, okay. Which book can they be found in?

Hmm, depends. Is it something he's deliberately looking for? Or something you're hoping he'll kind of stumble onto?

I'm hoping he stumbles on the East. I want those Katanas, and I doubt that anyone on this continent could make them.

Also, I think I read about it in SRD, whatever that is.

Oh, okay. The SRD is like a free, online version of the 3E rules.

As for Drav finding a map to the far east, I can try and find some way to work that into the game at some point.

So your intention is for him to discover it, put together an expedition, go find it, and then come back with some new weapons?

New weapons, new skills. Lots of stories and maybe some new materials to mess with as well.

I'm essentially working towards an Eastern-style vacation that involves learning stuff.
(I will also be visiting my old town before I go.)

Guess I better start coming up with some information on it, then. All I know is its name and it's far to the east and that's about it.

I think even 2-3 months would be pretty optimistic, but good point. I should have plenty of time. Guess I should start researching some Asian cultures.

It probably won't be too bad. It's not like I'll be holding adventures there or anything, I just need background info, really.

Indeed, I have regained my crown. And in 500 more posts or so, we can find out what I'll become after Emperor.

(OOC: It was on the island, right?)
No, Thaddeus meant the teleporter that brought him to the island. The one on the island itself was out of power, which is why Drav couldn't use it to go home. The one that brought him to the island in the first place, though, presumably still has power.
