I do try to post in a more formal manner and not use a lot of slang. I find that it makes me more easily understood, and it feels better for roleplaying purposes (unless, of course, I decide to play a modern-era teenager and go full Facebook/texting/emoji style...but I don't think I'll decide to do so any time soon!).
I understand that the best way to improve one's language skills is to use it, and I've heard lots of stories about people picking up English through roleplaying games. I'm glad to hear that we've helped your English in this way, BishGada!

Ah, damn it!

Did this get missed?

I'm glad it managed to turn out okay, and just sorry for all the pain the whole ordeal caused." He gives Tulbas a friendly pat on the shoulder, but recoils quickly remembering his injuries. "Sorry! I'll grab Haahqae from upstairs, meet you outside in two."
Gregeddin makes his way upstairs, recognising people from before he says "We're going, meet outside in two" briskly while walking around them to Haahqae's door. The bard knocks, waits a second then opens the door stepping into the room...
I thought one of you was standing on or near the stairs in the Steel Tankard?

Nope. Remember, this is a pseudo-medieval time period. There are no formal schools that everyone attends as children. So, most people cannot read or write. It's usually a privilege only given to the wealthy.
chese780 wrote:(OOC: Wait... If we can't read, HOW DID I FIND THE STEEL TANKARD?!?)
Presumably asking locals for directions. And most shops and places of business have signs with words but also pictures. The Steel Tankard shows a picture of a tankard, for instance. So even if you didn't know the name, you'd know it was a tavern.

I know, but considering the fact that we get ID papers. I thought something was sketchy.

The ID papers are more for the guards than anyone else. Although admittedly, not being able to read your own ID papers is problematic. They could say anything about you, and you'd never know.

This (low literacy rates) was actually the reason why most inns/taverns were named after items that could easily be drawn. It's not "David's Inn" it's "Green Flagon", because it's easy to draw a flagon and paint it green, it's hard to draw David, especially if Steve's inn was down the street.

When I was little I though the "King's Arms" were what held his hands on.

Jaded, what clan would Grubnick's dwarven mentor Delarn have come from? And which area would the dwarves he stayed with be in? I realize we didn't discuss thia level of detail much previously, but I'm thinking it might soon become relevant talking to Shima...

Well, his bio says he was a hill dwarf, so he'd be Neidar, too.
At this point, pretty much any dwarf who shows up would be either Neidar (hill dwarf) or Aghar (gully dwarf). This was because when the Cataclysm hit 350 years ago, Thorbardin (the mountain kingdom of dwarves) sealed its entrance and has refused to open it since then. The Neidar and Aghar were the only dwarves living outside of the mountain at the time, and so were sealed out. The Aghar were pretty cool with it (being fairly dumb and used to living in filth anyway; plus there are still some Aghar in the mountain). But the Neidar (who lived in the hills outside of the mountain) were pissed and even tried to force their way back inside (known as the Dwarfgate war). They failed.
The mountain dwarves (Hylar, Daewar), the Klar (whom are quite mad) and the dark dwarves (Daergar and Theiwar) all still live in Thorbardin.
As for where he lived? Not sure. Your bio doesn't say anything to hint at where Grubnick grew up or his mentor. But if we assume they were fairly local, then he was probably from one of the Neidar villages around the Kharolis Mountains. There are a few to choose from:
Avalance (a Neidar village on top of Cloudseeker Mountain, which is the mountain on which Thorbardin is within)
Herdlinger (a Neidar village near the center of the Vale of Respite that was overrun by goblins and ogres during the war)
Hillhome (home to the Fireforge clan from the books)
Hillow (no information available)
Meadowfair (on the western edge of the Kharolis Mountains, is populated by both Neidar and humans)
Neidarbard (on the northern edge of the Kharolis Mountains, a weird little place populated by Neidar and kender)
Stormslope (Very close to Thorbardin, actually underground but still cut off from the mountain kingdom)
Underbluff (built at the base of Sheercliff)
Waykeep (no information available)
Windhallow (no information available but I have it on good authority it was destroyed; it may have been rebuilt, though)
Winterhome (in the Vale of Ice, further to the south)

Jaded, I seem to have lost the Shima background. Doh.
Would you still have a copy, please?

Yep, Haahqae had mentioned that it looked like Belzor was in a hurry on his way out.
I'm not sure if anyone else mentioned Belzor.

And was Belzar connected with either of the 2 women that stole your potions and cash?

We didn't find any special connection to them (it seems unlikely). We hired the two women to attack Belzor's hideout, and I think at least one of them tried to fight during the attack. Furthermore, they would have had plenty of opportunities to betray and attack us while we were fighting our way into the hideout, but they opted for stealing the money and running instead, suggesting that they're independent thieves.

Thanks Haahque.
I'll have Shima ask in-game why you're after Belzor.

I'll PM your backstory to you.
Also, I'd say Shima has never heard of Belzor or the Belzorites. They were a human cult and had no traction outside of the human cities in the area.
