Re: Chapter 2A - A Jaunt Into The Country
Xolkin points at the pile of rope dumped on the ground by two of his men, "Isn't that enough?" He looks back impassively on the query about cutting down a tree.
***
Anyone checking discovered the pile of rope is actually five lengths of fifty foot of coarse rope.
There are also twelve planks, each about eight foot long, a barrel of nails and two lump hammers. No ladders.

Anyone noticed on the walls at this time?
Vic will try to explain his plan.
"I think three ropes will do. Tow up high one lower. One to walk on two hold onto. Can anyone else cast spells?" He tries to move the rope with his mage hand. "I will probably need someone feeding the rope to my hand for me, as it takes it across."
He will then start to check the other end for places to tie off the rope. If others can use Mage Hand. The he will try to work out a way to secure the rope with nails as well as knots.

"Sound. That would work," says Dandy, sounding snooty. "This will be much easier with someone on the other side. Jump across taking the first line for safety. Who's strong?"
He looks expectantly at Val.
Vic and Unbar see a bearded and helmeted face staing at them over the battlements in the northwestern tower of the keep. It's about 130' distant.

Athletics check to jump across.

What is below the bridge? How far is the fall? Is it water below?

Unbar looks Val up and down and then looks down at his own short legs. "You got this!" he exclaims brightly to his large companion.
Re: Chapter 2A - A Jaunt Into The Country
The river water can be seen about twenty foot below.

Vic waves at the head. "HULLO! WE WERE SENT FROM WATERDEEP!"

"Well that is encouraging" Unbar remarks. Turning to Val he asks "Well lad, are ye jumping or not!? Someone has to secure these ropes on the other side."
Re: Chapter 2A - A Jaunt Into The Country
Vic looks at Val. Then starts to use the mage hand to dtag the rope while guiding the slack across the hole.
Re: Chapter 2A - A Jaunt Into The Country
Xolkin and. Dandy join in and also stare interestedly at Val.
The head on the keep's NE tower stops waving.

"Alright big guy, no worries." Unbar says while stripping his armour. "I got this. No problem." Tying a rope off around his waist he continues "All of you hold onto the other end, I don't want to take another bad fall eh?" Making sure he is anchored by the others, Unbar takes a running start and leaps off the edge of the bridge.

Jim lands easily on the other side.
It taks a bit of time but a rope bridge, of sorts, is eventually constructed.
What next?
