"Huh!" Sornin will shrug his shoulders. He will look back at the ladies and wink, then and follow Rose up the ladder.

If the ladies are already on deck, Sornin will seek them out, and make small talk about having a drink after he finds his employment.

Jason continues to watch the island grow larger as they get closer. He leans against the railing, daydreaming about the new wonders of a new life. He pictures a little cabin of his own, maybe a sweet wife and a few children running afoot. And a dog or two, of course; gotta have dogs.

The Ladies inform Sorin that they will probably be stopping by the Shanty Tavern to celebrate their arrival this evening.

Everyone is on deck. The ferry slowly comes up towards the makeshift pier. About 5 metres away (15 feet) A crewman calls out, "Cap' This this really all she can manage!". Right at that moment the hooded figure sprints towards the bow and launches them self off the ferry, sailing through the air, and landing on the walkway and purposefully walking towards Port Collins. All the passengers are stunned silent, simply staring at this stunt. The young boy standing on the railings sighs "Wow..."

And then, the boat runs aground. The boy's balance is lost.

[OOC Everyone is gathered close enough that anyone can react to the boy falling.]

Sornin will also grab the lad.

A roll in case you want one:
Grab check: [1d20] = 12

Seeing that 3 people are already lunging for the lad, Maran holds off, not wanting to get in the way.
He looks for a gangplank.

As Jason was already at the railing, he grabs for the boy.

(Roll for Rose [1d20] = 9 )
(Roll for Jason Jason [1d20] = 4 )

"Kalle! No!" The young girls screams. The boy topples backwards.
Jason tries to get hold of something but he can't react quick enough, his metal armour probably slowing him down.
Like wise Rose and Sorin lunge for the boy. Sorin the faster of the two come closest, but neither of their efforts are good enough. The boy drops from everyone's vision and a second later a hard splash is heard.
It's at this point that the mother goes into hysterics, wailing "Ahhhhhh. He can't swim yet!"
Meran notices that the black hooded figure pays no attention to the commotion and keeps walking away.

The gap between the boat and the pier is only about 50cm (2 feet) now the boat has run aground. Anyone should be able to make it with a decently balanced jump.

Sornin will jump to the dock, then in after Rose and the child.

Jump to dock and then into the water: [1d20] = 13 [1d20] = 9

Jason takes his rope out of his pack and ties one end to the railing and throws the other end overboard so he can pull them back up once they secure the young man.

Rose leaps stright from the railings into the water, and Sorin hopping down via the dock. They feel the cold prick of the water on their skin, but they adrenaline keeps them warm and alert. Fishing in the water they locate the boy's thrashing limbs and raise him ot the surface. The Boy grasps the rope dangling in the water with desparation while coughing up substantial amounts of water.

Working together Jason and Meran haul the boy back onto the deck. Rose and Sorin also making their way safely out of the water, albeit thoroughly soggy. The mother cradles her boy Kalle in her arms while weeping hysterically, "Thank you thank you". The young sister hugs each of the party members in turn, or at least hugs the leg of Jason and Rose. While the other passengers and crew sing praises of their new heroes. "We are forever indebted to you, kind strangers" The man with big sooty hands declares, "We have not much yet here, but any favour we can replay, we will do it gladly."

Many pats on the back and happy faces are shared amongst the group as all the passengers head towards the centre of Port Collins, Commonwealth Farm. There is a large campfire burning there where it seems as if most people huddle around that are locals. There is also the Shanty Tavern to the West for those who wish to quench their thirst, and the Manor House to the East where Miss Freya is waiting.

Sornin will peel off a layer or gear, and attempt to get enough room around the fire to dry off a bit. No sense in having a first impression of him being compared to a wet sewer rat.

He will also use the Mage Hand cantrip to pat out his clothing and hold smaller pieces of gear close to the fire to help it dry.

rose will shake off as much of the water as she can then sit in a meditative cross-legged position next to the fire talking to her self "yes i'm cold and yes it was worth it he need my help and yes id like to kick that hooded guy" then silence after a while then again to herself "no i don't think he had any candy why would he have...never mind" to others around her one could almost hear it like a two sided conversation only hearing half of it roses ability to sound like she is only thinking out loud failing her a little with her discomfort of the cold
