Re: LSO OOC Thread II
Sort out soup kitchen & Deanna funding with Otaya & tell her to learn Combine for the morning.
See Roken to tell him that there's an adventuring group around and they're potential customers (and see if he knows anything about them from previous visits in the time of the old kohen.).
Sermon covers:
a) I'm your new kohen, different from the old one, so adjustments to be made all round.
b) Gonto's aspects are craft, knowledge, law and community. Announcements to cover how this portfolio is being furthered:
craft - through the construction of an amrouers's shop on the temple ground. This will be temple owed and run, but any budding or hopeful Gontoine armourer's apprentice's are invited to leave their names and so forth with Otaya after this service.
knowledge - may always be sought at this temple. The most recent items of knowledge, to dispel rumour, that we can share are that Agnas, know to you all and beloved by many, was cruelly killed by Leagers. The Leaguers in question have been dealt with but their leader escaped. It is known that he was planning, still plans, to bring war to this own. It is for this reason, we understand, in part at least, that Lady Ulvorn has had to increase taxes so as to be ready, to prepare for war brought by the Leaguers.Thats brings us to the next aspect:
Law -the new tax is subject to and part of the law, and hence must be paid. Taking action motivated against the Leaguers, revenge, the desire to strike out, against known or suspected Cruxites is not lawful and must avoided. To be clear, that is against the Will of Gonto. If you feel you must do something, then you can provide names on confirmed Cruxites to Lenna after this Service. But listen carefully: being as Cruxite is not unlawful. Being a Leaguer is not, in itself, unlawful. Do not take the law into your own hands. On this note, some of you are behind with yur tithes. This is not acceptable. Look to your hearts and rectify this. Those found lacking in their tithes may be found lacking in their speed of travel in the Afterlife, to Gonto's welcoming embrace.. And that beings us to the final aspect:
Community - the new tax will be burdensome to most and bring hardship to many. To aid the most affected, the most desperate Gontoites in this community will be aided by this temple - we are launching a means of support for those most needy - a soup kitchen. If your need to so great, do not be too proud to accept this modest aid.It is not mere charity; it is from a sense of community. The temple will ask those of you receiving assistance from this service, the kitchen, to render a few hours aid back to the temple. Work or labour as befits the individual's skill and capability.
This is all I have to say to you at this time, collections and donations may be made to temple staff on your way out. May Gonto guide you and light your way. Walk in the Light of Knowledge always.
**The above is a draft, and will go through it with the acolytes.**

Re: LSO OOC Thread II
Hi Jaded!
Couldn't see it anywhere, but is it reasonable to assume a Gonotite (??) altar's surface would be shaped as a cut-out from a circle, i.e. subtend a 270° arc, so that the circle of Gonto is complete when the preacher leans forwards and place arms on the left and right sides?
Not important, functionally, just a bit a flavour, if not defined elsewhere, of course.

Re: LSO OOC Thread II
Sure, that's fine. It's never been specified elsewhere.
Re: LSO OOC Thread II
Thanks. Thinking maybe a yard across, so three people (human size) could, with a bit of a stretch, join arms around the altar (and a preacher).
And the Altar's surface would just support an adult human up rolled up, ball-like (legs tucked up towards the chest).

Re: LSO OOC Thread II
@BishG: Hi Bish! Not quite sure why Baeros thinks Naras has been impolite. Was really trying hard to be polite TBH. Happy to say sorry but need a context.. Otherwise will just let it go.
@Jaded: I'd always thought that Conmine required each cleric in the circle to cast the spell. Just re-read it - maybe its just the central caster that does it?
That feels odd - I'd have thought each cleric partaking needs to comit to the the circle by actually expending some divine energy (1.Combine).
How do you run this?
(Doesn't actually matter in this case, other than that Naras would have had to jump through slightly less hoops to get each of the clerics to have Combine in memory...)

Re: LSO OOC Thread II
Yes, the central caster is the one who casts Combine. The other clerics are essentially material components. They stand in the circle and pray, but don't cast any spells.
Re: LSO OOC Thread II
ok, my misunderstanding. Thanks for clarifying
Re: LSO OOC Thread II

Re: LSO OOC Thread II
In one of my old games, the party found a Deck of Many Things. I don't really remember well what happened, but I know what poor guy drew the Void card.
Re: LSO OOC Thread II
xD
I mean, you have restrictions on how the Moon and Fate cards are used?

Re: LSO OOC Thread II
Restrictions? No. The Moon card grants wishes, just like the 9th level spell of the same name. The Fate card basically lets you avoid a single encounter, if I remember correctly.
Re: LSO OOC Thread II
And, how complicated can a 9th level wish spell be?
