That's a good way to sum it up. Especially given his Kit. That's a primary trait of his - independent.

Plus he's not entirely too sure what Mira's "profession" is based on his first impressions. He's keeping his distance just in case Mira is Yasir's "courtesan". Imagine Artanis' reaction if he overhears someone say to Mira: "Your performance last night was wonderful."?

I guess yasir really messed up that impression then, I suppose that's what comes with drinking on the job, heh.
