"Um ok. Well, can you just clarify that a bit, please, Ontash?" asks Jerry.

"A rope...?" Pyros will actually look offended.

"I promise not to jump down and try to ride the Alpha." He will sigh... he had already been imagining that.

He will whisper under his breath...

"Taking all the fun out of this..."

"The Fog! Of course, that fog, it is here.." The fog that brought her here, could it bring her home.. ? More importantly, did she want it to? "We have to accept we may be limited in vision. Pyros, we'd prefer you were able to continue with us, rather than take another journey.. " Patting the Kenders hand she smiles.

"Elf vision isn't useful in the fog.. what if we set up some markers? Cantrips that set off an alarm telling us they are coming?" She suggests waiting on the mages input.

"I've never tried that," replies Jerry. "Can it be done?" She looks at Merrick for his opinion.

cross thinks on the idea "it could but im worried about relying on a trigger that could fail and us getting cough with our pants down. id like to go up with pyros and be a second set of eyes and i could throw my dagger without being in range of our furry adversary's"

Ontash replies regarding Jerry's follow-up question. Yes, the fog tends to thicken... well right about this time. Some nights it isn't bad, sometimes it's so thick you can hardly see past the window. A day can be clear and the night thick as fresh milk. he shrugs.

A few people on the roof sounds like a good idea, but we should be sure to leave enough to cover all of the downstairs entrances...

Merrick muses over the magic discussion. I've no doubt some sounds could be conjured, but I don't recall ever hearing of a cantrip being set with a delayed condition such as an alarm. Even so, the longest I have heard of a cantrip lasting was an hour... and that was a simple time-keeping tool... he seems a little awkward spesking plainly of magic in front of so many people.

Recognising his discomfort, Jerry gives Merrick a lovely smile and mouths silently, "Thank you!" and gives his knee a squeeze.

"Ontash, thank you. It sounds to me as if the fog is isn't a natural, random thing. Rather it's part of the things that happen here and might be used as an indicator," suggests the female half elf. She continues, "Mira, is there anyone or anything that can predict, influence or control the fog?"

"I have utterly no idea, let me think on that one. I might have read a story about it, and stories are the basis of many truths." Putting down her cutlery she fixes her gaze on Merrick, "I've had to hide my skills for a month, I can't imagine your whole life." She nods to Jerry and continues.

"Ok, Artanis, you are the warrior here, you've heard the suggestions, but I suspect we will be following your lead on this. What do you want to do? And how can we help you do it? I have some magical bolts that never seem to miss, and a web spell. Plus lots of Minor magics.. How can we defend this place?" She watches the Warrior and waits.

Artanis ponders the options and possibilities for several moments. An interesting twist - the hunted to become the hunters.

"With the wolves returning with such regularity, it would seem they are hunting something here. If we are dealing with wolves, I can use my arrows from an upper window or join Pyros on the roof. Those arrows are not good against those larger wolves. If we knew exactly what the wolves are hunting, perhaps some could make noises that sound like those animals - horses, rabbits, chickens, etc. I also have that...ability...to accelerate plant growth again as well. That's a good way to tangle them up."

"Why don't they work against the larger ones?" You can tell he is asking with honest curiosity.

Mira tries to recall anything about 'controlling' the mist, but the only thing she recalls hearing in that regard is that the gypsies seem to be able to navigate the mists.

I suppose they would hunt anything normal wolves do... but right now they're hunting my family.Ontash says with a grim expression.

"How about a cantrip of an odour? Maybe cooking? Or maybe we don't need anything; they'll just come at a their whim," speculates the Mystran.

"The mists... The Gypies can walk them I recall, the ones I met were friendly.." Snapping her mind back into the conversation she nods. "We need an Illusionary Ontash, all three mages working together to fix that image, he is what they are aiming for, thus he should be our trap." She looks at Artanis with a hopeful grin.

"Pyros and Artanis on the roof, the rest of us in the house we create an illusion near the barn the smell of the horses should confuse them, when they appear I web them. BUT we need something to attach the web too. Ontash? Do you have any posts? Long stakes? Something we can drive into the ground to anchor the web too." Her eyes still on the Ranger she adds. "Does that sound like a good plan? Confuse them..?"
