Pausing briefly, Bryce calls back "Tabbi could check out the closer dead end. It would speed things up."

"I thought you were getting tired of my presence!"
Tabbi will go through the tunnel and check the other end. Tapping and pocking around for traps with a javelin. She will also search for secret doors at the end of the tunnel.

Tabbi climbs down and checks the dead end, tapping the walls, ceiling and floor and examining expertly. There does seem to be some indication of a trap door in the floor, but no clue as to how it can be opened; or even if it can be from this side.

Bryce continues down the longer tunnel to the end and finds what appears to be another illusory plane as his hand passes through easily without resistance.

Can Tabbi determine if it is made of metal, stone or wood?

While waiting for the scouts to report their findings Galan story telling about ancient legends of heroes defeating great horrors. "Well... in every generation we have the courageous people that stand up to save the world. Sometimes the horrors win, but eventually good prevails." and he plays a calm tune in the memory of all the dead courageous heroes.

"I found a trap door but I can't figure out how to open it. Bryce can you come and take a look?"

Van will stand in the hall, and contemplate the murals, and portal colours.

Bryce ventures over to inspect and sees the trapdoor when pointed out. After a few minutes of investigation, he too is unable to easily puzzle out how to open it...

OOC - sorry I've been absent lately. The kids have been putting me to sleep lately rather than the other way round.

Bryce will also inform Tabbi as well as moving back to the hole in the floor under the chest and informing the rest of the party of the illusory dead end he found.

"Van, Faladair, let's join the others near the trap door and try to help unraveling this mystery." Galan says and joins Bryce and Tabbi.
"What have we got here?" he asks.

"There is a trap door here that doesn't appear to open from our side. We might be missing something."

Tabbi will step back and let others have a look.

Galan climbs down and inspects the area as well, looking for any clue to how it opens. Tabbi and Bryce have to point out the almost imperceptible edge of the square area of floor. In fact, only his Elven experience even allows him to realize what it might be. His search turns up no additional clues.

Van comes back to the room.

"Doubt I will be much help. Unless you think it is magically closed."
