Tabbi and Zafron move down the passge to find Galan at the end with his hands through the illusion but the elf is shoved back away from it by something beyond. no sound comes from beyond the illusory dead end...

"Galan, what are you doing and do you need help?"

"There is some force opposing passage. I fear it is a trap luring us to use force or speed and then trip by our own inertia, but our friends are on the other side and we must help them." Galan tries to force his upper body in as well as activating the winged boots.

Galan forces his way past the illusion, head first. As he overcomes the mysterious opposing force he suddenly moves fully through the interface and out of sight...

"I would agree with you brother. Here a rope." Zafron pulls a rope out and ties it to his waist and give the end to his brother. Make sure the rope is tithe so when I walk through the illusion I only a 1 or 2 feet of play so I don't fall if there is a hole on the other side.

Van will take the rope, and tie off the end to a bench. He will then hold the rope tight, so Zafron needs to pull rope from him, allowing little to no slack.

[They are in a plain, featureless crawlspace that winds about 100 feet total away from the room. there is currently nothing to tie it to nearby. will he hold it or try to devise an anchor?]

"My rope is only 50 feet and I only have a grappling hook." Can Zafron see if there is anything to attach a grappling hook to?

There doesn't appear to be anything rough enough to hook a grapple to securely, even the first bens in the tunnel is rounded. Some notch or step could be cut in the stone with the proper tools, or a cllimbing spike hammered in, however.

"Van, do you have any spikes and a hammer?"

Tabbi says, "Van if you don't have any spikes, I have some climbing spikes and a hammer."

If Van doesn't have any Tabbi will give two spikes to Zafron to hammer into the ground and tie the rope around it. He will make sure there is 10 feet of rope around the spikes so if he needs some slack he will have it handy. He will hammer the spikes about 35 feet out from the spot there Galan went through. That will leave him with 3 feet of rope to tie around his waist and 2 feet of extra slack when he walks through where Galan disappeared. He will tug on the rope to make sure the spikes will hold and the rope is secured.

"What's he plan? We go back or go forward and take our chances? I don't like leaving our brother behind, but we don't know what happened."

The spikes and rope are rigged up after a few minutes and seem secure.
